…they were great, would be nice to see them with Steve M., but just USING this as a chance to vote AGAIN 4 FURTHUR!!! :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup
Here’s my wish list: The Gourds, Hayes Carll, Danny Barnes, Red Stick Ramblers, Dehlia Low, Shannon Whitworth qnd Donna The Buffalo. Can’t forget the usuals, Sammy, Peter, Jerry, Bela, Tim O and hopefully Johnny C is back next year.
HERE HERE TO CORNMEAL! I searched this entire thread hoping I would find them ATLEAST ONCE. They blow me away every time. They played for nearly 5 hours after the 4 mile canyon benefit shows in broomfield, unitl nearly 3 am :thumbsup they did late night in 2009 and it was one of my favs that weekend, hands down!
I am also happy to see a common RAILROAD theme here along with trampled and greensky, sounds delicious!!!
Caught Abigail Washburn’s 45 minute set last Tuesday at The Basement in Nashville and I have to tell ya, she BLEW… THE… ROOM… AWAY. Two more free shows, 11/9 & 11/16 (Tuesday’s) and I’ll be there for sure.
Abby’s new CD, City of Refuge, comes out in January and I have to tell ya, even considering my bias, the mature vocal range alone is worth making the trip to Town Park next year.
I’d have to put Abigail Washburn in the top 10 Picks for the shows I’d like to see at Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2011.

I could list a whole lot of artists that either have been there before (subdudes! Stringdusters) or I think SHOULD be (Band of Heathens). But more than anything, I wanna be surprised.
I’m always amazed by some of the artists we’ve gotten to see. I had never heard of the New Orleans Social Club, nor Sharon Jones, nor Mumford, until they appeared on a TBF schedule. Now I would go (and already have gone) WAY outta my way to see them again.
Even acts like Cake or especially David Byrne, who I knew of but were surprised by the scheduling at a bluegrass fest, have been real highlights for my years at T-ride.
Sure, along with the happy surprises are a couple of bands I was looking forward to trying out for the first time with less than spectacular results (I’m talking about YOU, Ryan), but overall the good surprises FAR out-weigh the negatives.
And the best part of this forum topic is seeing so many NEW bands brought up. We all love our Sammy and Bela and family, but to me, it’s the new stuff that makes every TBF better than the last.
Either that or it’s the beer and bacon and friends and the mountains and…
I absolutely second Jam Strait’s suggestion, THE SECRET SISTERS are amazing. Saw them last night open up for Ray LaMontagne and Levon Helm. Simply dynamite.
:cheers

Levon’s voice is gone. The 11 piece band was great, the vocals are split up. Levon tried singing 1 or 2, and it was rough. Last year I would have begged for this show at Telluride, now, I am not so sure. Of course all of that is “Just one drunken, cooler-raiding, womanizing, udderly useless-duktape figure’s personal opinion”
