Your 2011 Telluride Bluegrass Festival artist suggestion soap box...

What everyone said

and

Goose Creek Symphony

Did anybody say Steve Earle, James McMurtry, Guy Clark, Robert Earl Keen, Butch Hancock, Joe Ely, or Jimmie Dale Gilmore? Just get 'em all and call 'em the Flatlanders with Steve, James, and Guy.

If not I just did. :wave

AKUS

The Radiators with Leftover Salmon. :cheers They just played for free at the Concert at the Square. I think those two bands would have such a great time together. I’d love for them to be a double bill at the Mardi Gras Ball I go to. That would be insane. Just sayin… :cheers

Who do you want to hear, inside or outside the Bluegrass box?

I am with you there Sista! What a show that would be. Hope all is well in NOLA.

NICE WORK!!! :thumbsup

Anyone else thinking how great it would be to hear Bela Fleck with the Doobie Brothers? (featuring John Cowan, of course).

New guy just coming up named James Dupre. His first record, produced by Jerry Douglas, was released back in February. He’s an EMT by day in Cajun country. Really fine talent! You will here more from this guy. He’s the real deal.

That would be really nice. A very good mix. Hope, you never cease to amaze me!

I think I forgot to say…

      I MISS TONY FURTADO!!

I am now. That would be amazing.

I’ll 2nd the great picks of:
Leftover Salmon

Emmitt-Nershi
Infamous Stringdusters
Toubab Krewe
Greensky
Trampled by Turtles
Carolina Chocolate Drops
All your usual suspects:
Sam Bush

Peter Rowan
Hot Rize

And bring back this CO band that’s playing together again with a little Telluride history too:
THE STRING CHEESE INCIDENT!!!

What about a New Grass Revival reunion???

Pokey Lafarge and The South City Three!!
Langhorne Slim!!
The Wood Brothers!!

and…

Keller and The Keels should play every year, forever!!

Chris Hillman.
Maybe a Gram Parsons tribute with folks like Steve Earle, Hillman, Emmylou and so on…

Ha ha! I love James Dupre! His voice is amazing, and he’s partially responsible for my YouTube addiction…

On the bluegrass side of things, i just want to request, again, BLUE HIGHWAY!!!

Saw Gaelic storm on saturday they put on a great show.

Would like to see them at telluride.

I love this idea. Hearing Counting Crows sing “Return of the Grievous Angel” with Emmylou a few years ago was wicked fun!

Old Crow Medicine Show - late night slot
Trampled by Turtles - Palomino is one of the best albums I purchased in 2010
Cornmeal - dance your face off
Greensky
Infamous Stringdusters - I spoke to Travis and these guys WANT to play Telluride. We WANT THEM BACK! :thumbsup

DITTO!!! :thumbsup

Okay I’m a little slow to jump on the train but it’s allergy season so my heads a little foggy, a lot of these are repeats but I’m sure the Craig and Dustin are keeping a running tally somewhere…

Toubab Krewe
Steve Martin & SCR (or with Punch Bros, or maybe just a Steve/Noam pick-off)
Crooked Still (i miss them)
Trampled by Turtles
Alison Krauss & Robert Plant
Head for the Hills
Sarah Jarosz (w/ Abigail Washburn-that was awesome a few years back)
Infamous Stringdusters
Mumford & Son
Avett Bros
Carolina Chocolate Drops
Band of Horses
Ray LaMontagne
Great Lake Swimmers

also brand new to me band out of Nashville, maybe for an Elk Park set…Tristen (an Imelda May meets Alison)

and of course all of the regulars…maybe it’s time to extend the festival to Wednesday…i mean we’re all there anyways…just a thought

I think that’s all for now.
