What artists are you enjoying at the moment?

The Quebe Sisters :oconnor are serious Texas Swing, and they are very good.

I will happily 2nd, 3rd and 4th The John Butler Trio! :band

Auntie Hope :festivarian2 :green

Love Texas Swing…
The Butler Trio is good but to me can sound like one long running song. It all sounds the same to me :flower

How about Asleep At The Wheel for some good western swing. :thumbsup

Cool idea T-Tom!

We saw The Flatlanders last weekend and they were hot! We saw The Subdudes last Wednesday night and THEY were also HOT! I think I mentioned that we saw Litttle Feat a month ago and they were incredible!Oh, and I forgot to mention Sonia Dada, who would also be great at Telluride.

I cannot get enough of The Infamous Stringdusters. Bring 'em back. And, The Duhks!

I also agree Little Feat would be a riot.

And is there a way to have Bryan Sutton do songs from his “Almost Live” CD? His super-star fellow musicians who appear on the CD (Sam, Bela, Jerry Douglas, Chris Thile, etc.) will be at Tride also. That would be cool. The CD is just awesome.

Subdudes, Stringdusters, Flatlanders, Little Feat - oh yeah, you’re reading my ipod! But for someone new check out the Band of Heathens. They were on the latest Austin City Limits (with Elvis Costello - great show!). They are NOT bluegrass, but what fantastic harmonies. 3 singer-songwriters front the band, all are GREAT musicians (guitar, lap steel, mandolin, piano) and their new album has a lot of Little Feat-like sounds.

Also, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers are getting unbelievable reviews everywhere they go. SCRs loved playing T-ride and are hoping for another invitation.

And for Sunday morning, how about raising the roof with Mavis Staples?!?!

I saw Band of Heathens on that show and I was thinking the same thing John. They would be great to see in Telluride, in one of the “let’s try this out and see how they like 'em” slot.
subdudes are always great, but I would rather see them at a smaller venue, maybe a late-night show.
Infamous Stringdusters, please.
Sure would like to see Delma again.

I’d throw in a vote for the Band Of Heathens. I’ve seen 'em twice at Oskar Blues in the past year and they were really good. They will be in Colorado for a few gigs the first of the new year so a good chance for CO peeps to check them out.

Wise guy :flower That’s the reason we keep coming back, our favorite regulars are a part of this crazy TBF family… :medal

Was fortunate enough to see Old Crow Medicine Show at the Kent Folk Fest last Wednesday. Flat out…these guys are GOOD! My 2nd time seeing them. The MC stepped onto the stage for the introduction and the 1st thing he said was:

“These guys performed at the 2005 Telluride Bluegrass Festival…”

gave me chills!

I say…Bring em back! They have a killer new CD out.

Uh, duh. How could I forget to mention Hot Rize? Cold mountain air makes the brain cells move slower I guess.

I know this is way out there but, what about Sting? :huh

I’m good with that idea. :thumbsup

Say, UJo, so how much are you willing to pay for that TBF ticket? :lol

Auntie Hope (slaps knee :lol)
:festivarian2 :green

(gosh, I do love you guys! :lol)

:wave, kinda way out there. Not one of my favorites but thats just me.

Steve Martin or Dolly Pardon (guareenteed to blow you away) would be slammin good.

Dolly does bluegrass bigtime, really good stuff. Never thought I would say that but she smokes it :flower

I think she would be an ahhhha moment for a ton of folks just like Johnny Cash was for me, man that man can swing!

Gaelic Storm enjoyed them at TBF this year… :flower

Auntie, your knee must be killing you! :lol Unfortunatly, any price is about out of the question. The economy is not been good to us what with two in college and very slow business, so it appears Jo and I will not be able to attend this year. We would not trade our expierience last year for anything. We still have the festivarian bug and talk about our time there often. Hell, I still get on the forum so I can keep in contact with you guys. Spent about an hour looking through posted photos the other day. I feel the good vibes from all of you good folks through the forum and really can’t wait to see you again.
