SPLENDID IDEA AUNTIE HOPE!!! :wave This time I will not leave for a dinner break. That was a stupid move.
So…If ya can get Byrne, how about Tom Petty for that slot?
SPRING CREEK!!!
Steve Martin / Steep Canyon
Mac Wiseman
I am late to the party on these guys but have been listening to Medeski, Martin and Wood a lot lately. Would love to see a Medeski, Martin and Wood & Acquaintances set with various guests joining like a plugged in Drew Emmitt, Jeff Coffin, J. Douglas on electric slide, etc.
Elephant Revival. They’re from Colorado. They are FANTASTIC!
I’ve listened to some of their live sets. They are fabulous. Soe of the dryest humor I’ve heard from anybody in between songs.
How could I forget:
Gillian Welch and David Rawlings (paired with OCMS, why not? )
Mountain Heart
I’ll second the Robert Earl Keen motion
and I know it’s not bluegrass, but you’ve done it before so…
James Taylor (with a bluegrass backup, Elvis Costello style?!?)
Whatever you get out for 2010, I know it’ll be awesome no matter what! :thumbsup
I’ve got another one. Little Feat would be killer! I was listening to their 1988 TBF set the other day. Wonderful.
Little Feat! You bet, I’ll cast a vote for them! :thumbsup :thumbsup
No Jamband is complete without at least one Little Feat song in their arsenal, in my opinion.
Listening to old Folkways blues compilations and zydeco lately.
Definitely on a southern bend this fall. Can’t stop listening to “Acadian Driftwood” by The Band for some reason either, great song <=, well, maybe that’s why.
On that note, if the Planet could get him to visit, I would love to see (then) 70 year-old Levon Helm and his band. That would be fun. Heard good things about “Electric Dirt” but haven’t listened to it myself yet.
Damn, there’s the dreaded “small member” status, ya take one icy cold shower and then it’s all over the internet.
Hi Auntie and Rob!
Ron (other) ABQ
Hi! O.R.I.A.
Nice to see you out and about again! Helo to the Honey for us, please!
Somewhere around 218 Days until we meet AGAIN!!!
Auntie Hope :festivarian2 :green
Casting a vote for MM&W. I loved Cornmeal…saw them again after TBF at High Sierra Music Festival last year, I had chills.
Would love to see them again at Telluride
Infamous Stringdusters, Emmitt-Nershi, Greensky Bluegrass, Vince Herman & Friends, and of course my favorites Sam, John, Tim. Would love to see Sara Watkins again, and for a new one, how about Ryan Bingham. Yes I know I’ve said that before. AKUS would be nice to see again too, as would Arlo. No James Taylor, he played last out of the 3 or 4 days, and he put me to sleep with all those slow songs. :zzz
I like to end the festival with a high-energy band that keeps me going until the next year. :concert
Levon Helm’s new cd is very nice to listen to.
Right at this moment I’m diggin’ MGMT.
Not bluegrass, but trippy just the same!
Frequently, in other moments, I love Keller and the Keels, Keller and WMD, and solo Keller Williams.
Leftover Salmon of course.
Emmitt-Nershi Band
Monty Montgomery from Austin, Texas rocks.
Jeremy Garrett is nice.
Umm… Jack Johnson.
Modest Mouse
The John Butler Trio
Gold Spot is catchy
(Having iTunes right here is dangerous)
Ok this one is a must see: Chickenfoot. Sammy Hagar on vocals, Joe Satriani on lead guitar, Chad Smith on drums and Michael Anthony on bass.
Aimee Mann
JJ Cale
Arlo Guthrie - I love his stories and view on things.
That’s it for now! Love you all. :wave
Dustin,
Are you still reading this? I would like to see the Infamous Stringdusters, the Waybacks, and Sunday morning with Mike Marshall, Edgar Meyer, Joshua Bell and Yo Yo Ma.
Tickets go on sale next month. When will you be posting the early tentative lineup, including all the usual suspects?
Leftover Salmon (I think I already said that in an earlier post, but never hurts to reconfirm ;))
The Dillards, or at least Doug Dillard. Besides on the Andy Griffith show, we saw the Dillards play in Tucson last year at our delicious local brewery - the Nimbus. Doug still picks great and he is quite the character, very fun guy. It would be neat to see him sit in with LoS and a few others at TBF too!
You bet he is and just sitting quietly gathering all this info like a little chipmonk…his fat lil cheeks just bursting with lineup info.
I say we ruff em up for line up information.
Second the Dillards…would love to see Sarah Jarocz again. How about the Quebe Sisters Band (Texas Swing Band- beautiful trio of fiddle-playing sisters)?
