Hello! We are arriving tomorrow!! Do we need to get our wristbands before we go to town park drop off stuff before parking? Will the printed passes be okay while unloading and setting up camp?
I am bringing my 80 year old parents to Bluegrass for the first time…is this a crazy idea? they both can walk but not for miles- what is the best way to get them into the park - shortest walking distance, etc. I have chairs for them once they get in (no basketball fits underneath so they should be able to get close enough to enjoy it all). we wont stay all day but I just want to minimize the walk/wait travel hassle. Neither is handicapped so we dont have a sticker or anything like that- we are staying in mountain village and will have a car with a town sticker on it but thats it. any ideas welcome!
pretty sure you can go unload and just show the printed version. Then go get your wristbands.
See you tomorrow.
FESTIVAAAAAAAAL
You are correct. I guess I just think of the soundboard as the barrier.
Driving from RVA - Richmond Va. Leaving on Friday the 19th to make Telluride Sunday. Taking 64 to 70. Any tips on best way to get to Town Park? Will be streaming the festival all the way. I am a veteran of Merlefest and very excited to experience Telluride for the first time. Going on to Yellowstone on Monday. Any travel tips willbe appreciated.
You have two options, stay on 70 thru Denver over the mountains to Grand Junction to 550 south down to Ridgeway right on CO 62 follow to CO 145 to Telluride. The other is in Limon CO get off and go south/west on 24 to Colorado Springs stay on 24 through the city and up in the mountains toward Buena Vista, when you get to 285 take a left go to Poncho Springs where you’ll hit CO 50 take a right stay on 50 till you get to Montrose take a left on 550 to Ridgeway. From then on its the same as above. Good luck that’s a big trip in 2 days.
Thanks Foster, I checked them out on the atlas and the second way seems more direct but maybe slower speeds. Either way it will be a great trip. Thanks
If you are going to be traveling at night I’d stick to the interstate to GJ during the day I’d go with the lower route faster and beautiful. Have a great trip see ya there.
Thanks for the tip. See ya
Hey Telluride Tom!! Want to come on KOTO tomorrow evening and tell fun Bluegrass stories? Please call me so I can give you details! Cara 728-3206. Would love to have you.
hey i live in dolores as well we should do same picking together!!
My bestie and I are total newbies to TBG and we have Town Park camping passes. None of our other friends got camping passes. We weren’t able to get off work earlier so we aren’t scheduled to arrive in Telluride until Wednesday mid-day. Its just two of us coming from Golden. We are seasoned festivarians, but I’m getting a little worried after reading through this thread. How hard will it be for us to find a decent space for 2 tents and an easy-up on Wednesday? :eek Is there anyone there that would want to lay a tarp out for us, or is that too much to ask? We’re super fun, sweet gals, and are guaranteed to be a good time! Just name your poison and we’ll be sure to take good care of ya! :flower :cheers
Hello and thanks in advance for the info… We have TP camping passes and two little ones with us 3 &1, my question is this: we aren’t planning on getting to the park till wed afternoon friends have setup our tent already, but will I be able to drive my truck close to said camping spot or should I plan a long walk to bring all of our stuff to the site? sooooo super excited for this weekend!!! And if anyone else has some littles and wants to play would love to meet ya!
Hi all, :wave this will be my first Telluride Bluegrass Festival, heading out tomorrow and camping in Town Park! I just found out that my ride back to Salt Lake City airport is leaving the festival on Sunday morning, and I am definitely hoping to stay for most of the music on Sunday.
Any leads on finding a ride back to Salt Lake City on Sunday night? or even early monday morning? I posted on the “hitching a ride” page, but no luck so far. Wondering is anyone has suggestions on other methods of finding a ride, or if you know of anyone heading back that way that may have room for one more! does anyone know if there is any sort of actual physical message board at the Festival, or other ideas for coordinating a ride share?
Thanks!
Is showing up tomorrow morning to Town park a horrible plan? I had something come up and either need to leave tonight or EARLY in the morning. Will I be SOL for a small space for my 2 man backpacker tent without having to get creative? I heard it can get competitive in TP.
-a first timer at town park
So I’m planning on attending TBF in 2016…if I win a TCAMP lotto and pay $315 for a spot does that get both my wife and myself a camp spot or do we need to pay $630 for one tent spot
Camping passes and festival passes are sold on a per person basis, so yes you both need a Town Park pass no matter how many tents you’re going to set up.
I stayed in Town Park back in 2009 and 2010, but I don’t know answer to this question: If my friends and I are lucky enough to get 4-day passes with town park camping and a vehicle pass, can I retain camping and vehicle pass/rights, but sell all or portion of each 4-day music pass? Bringing some newbies who only want to attend for a day or two.
Nope. All TownPark & Warner Field tickets are 4Day fest/camping passes. One single wristband. (No way to split it up)
There is no single day camping pass available, other than outside of town, @ Lawson Hill, and Mary E. Ilium. (shuttle bus to town/fest)
I’ve always heard that there are only 30 Town Park Vehicle passes, so don’t count on winning one of those in the lottery.
