Carhenge is easy access off of the round-about you’ll see as you enter Telluride, :drive the opposite side of the circle from the school, the High School, then an easy left turn before the only bridge on that road. There are usually sign’s pointing the way, :welcome and Planet Bluegrass helpers :hombre have very fine pointing skills. :rock
Hello all!
Wife and I enjoyed ROckyGrass a few years back, and are first time participants for TBF :thumbsup
We were late to the draw, and will be camping at the High School, unless we find a way to do it differently.
I have seen any mention of this campground here - any info available? I know it is meant to be “quiet” and is ETOH-free, which is fine.
Any other pertinent info? Same suggestions apply regarding tarps/space/friendliness?
We are so excited. Is there a bike valet or some etiquette regarding bikes?
Bring a lock for the bike, just in case you can’t park it by your tent.
Tent stakes no longer than 6 inches so you don’t hit a sprinkler pipe.
The area is a little more exposure to the weather so tarps and ez-UPS are you friends.
Water bottles are a must for your walk from the high school (west) to the festi-field (east). It’s a short beautiful walk, but at 8,750 feet up you need that fluid.
You don’t need a vehicle pass for town park, most park on the road, carhenge or Mountain Village FREE… Vehicle passes are for sleeping in not parking your car, different than Blue and Brews, I think.

Hi All! I’m arriving around 5:00 pm on Wednesday (17th) with 2 Town Park camping passes. Is that too late to get 2 camping spots near each other? Any suggestions on how/where to look for spots would be GREATLY appreciated!
:wave
The folks in Town park are pretty friendly and while the campground is pretty crowded by then there is always extra space. Just wander around and talk with your new neighbors, room will open up, and you’ll make friends for life.
Thanks so much for the advice. I am looking forward to meeting so many friendly people! You might recognize me as the one who is trying to figure out how to set up the tents. It’s been a while!
TP Virgin here. SO STOKED. My hubby and I are wondering if it would be worth it to hall our bicycles to TP w/ us? What are the bonuses of having a bike in Telluride? Note, our bikes are road bikes, so aren’t very good on lots of gravel, etc. Also, I can’t wait to hang out with all you wonderful people!!!

And, Nick’s in charge of drop off and pick up, so it really doesn’t matter! :lol
I’m going to try to come on Saturday to set up camp early in Town Park which I haven’t done before. Does this work similarly to the tarp rush, or is this a more laid-back affair? Do I need to be there right at 10a?
Curious how Town Park campers feel if I were to come on Saturday to set up my tent and return Thursday morning? We would like to enjoy the weeklong festivities but due to work and childcare we can’t stay. Looks like campers reserve space for others with tarps so I’m sure it’s ok to set up and leave???
I thought highback chairs (higher than a b’ball) had to be behind the horizontal break walkway thru the field. . . a bit further back than the soundboard. No? Yes?
