Excited for some VT brews! Is there a LT blackberry wheat in the bunch? I’m not usually a fruit in my beer kind of guy, but I have such good memories of that brew!
So sad we are going to miss you guys and the fest this year! Really enjoyed the beer tasting last year. Pop a top for me! Hope to catch you all again next year!
What a great extended week! All the parties were fun, and we had a total blast. The Beer Tasting was absolutely amazing, so many beers, there’s no way I could have tried them all. Thanks to all those who came out and helped devour some brews, and especially those that made the effort to bring some really special beers. If it wasn’t for the help from Paul, and the Hulaganz we couldn’t have pulled this off in the manner it happened. :cheers
I agree that this was a super-fun event that we can hopefully expand and make more popular next year! And definitely thanks to Paul for the surplus supply. Maybe next year, if more people chip in with some of their local micro-brews for taste testing, we can upgrade the event name from “Beer Tasting” to “Kegger”.
Thanks ToddG, Hooch & Pass Port…the beer tasting this year was a brew-tiful thing. I love these simple ways we create community in Town Park through food and drink…it inspires me and all of us in Camp HulaGanz to be a better, kinder festivarians.
I really enjoyed sampling regional brews from around the country not locally available here in Colorado and meeting other festi folks that enjoy a tasty beer. It was nice to see the international beers sampled quickly especially the Canadian, European, Brazilian, Aussie & UK ones. Who would of thunk a Belgian Quad and barrel-aged chocolate stout would be equally refreshing next to the waterfall.
I made some mental notes for next year to hopefully improve the tasting experience (more tables, snacky snacks etc.). We didn’t capture that much swill in our rinse buckets so that was nice and we recycled all containers…plus Todd collected the bottle caps too.
Cheers guys…I have a year to work on my beer puns!
I have to say that the beer tasting event this year was above and beyond the best one ever in Town Park.
The participation was phenomenal and brought out quite a crowd from all over the campground.
I look forward to many more samples in the years to come.
I was happy to join in even though I was not a camper. Super friendly and got to chat with some new friends. I loved the Ale and a few others. Makes me want to learn to brew.
I can’t believe Landshark was there and I didn’t meet her! Next year!! :wave
Paul, tables and labels sounds awesome! Duk Tape can bring up a table or two. And some snacks would be sound. Tuesday is a marathon :drunk, and a little food would go a long way. We can talk later this summer, but I like your suggestions!
We were in Austin last weekend after seeing the Punch Brothers in Dallas, and had to stop at my favorite brewery Jester King. To clarify Jester King doesn’t produce my favorite beers, but it is the most amazing place to spend an afternoon. So I now have started my stash for next years beer share, couple of nice sour ales from Jester King! :cheers
YUM! I just cannot relate to Beer that taste like fruit or anything else for that matter. Beer is good just the way it suppose to be. Hops and dry and fizzy. Dang I want one and I rarely drink. LOL! Ale fizzy and light… yum :medal
Yum - Jester King wasn’t at Great American Beer Fest last week in Denver so I’m looking forward to sampling their brews at the Town Park tasting next year. A few Austin breweries medaled and Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. won Large Brewpub and Large Brewpub Brewer of the Year.
