When thinking of the elevation of Telluride, which number do you think of?
I’ve heard 8,750 and 8,745 as the official elevation - which one do you think it is? If you think it’s different than those please reply with your answer.
i always say 9,000 feet…because it’s close to that…and it sounds SO dramatic;) i’m more into the dramatic than the mathematic…ha-ha…another rhyming couplet.
You know… When thinking about the altitude, we should probably consider our attitude… Are you really high? Yes? This is really great for those of us in a pee testing regime, better wait for 2 weeks after TBF for that random test. If you want to respond the original question with no; Keep in mind that you’re gonna be really high no matter what you do…
It’s 8745’ for me because of Johnny C’s 8745 feet LIVE @ TELLURIDE album. :thumbsup Please come sing for us again sometime soon, JC? (can’t stand it much longer, damn it!) But 9K’ comes out of my mouth because it does sound awesome-r!
… but now I’m curious how the town’s “official elevation” is calculated? Since it’s clear there’s a fair amount of variability within the town boarders. For example, there’s a decent elevation gain on Oak street if you start at the river and walk up to the start of Tomboy Road. At least in the neighborhood of 50 vertical ft. is my rough guess. Perhaps the “center most point in town” (laterally) is where the elevation is measured, or maybe there’s some sort of average akin to the way a house might have the corners of it’s roof in relation to a grade measured out?
Well…being a Floridian flatlander, and as history has shown we aint big on math ( Cant seem to count them votes ) … Every June, I just tell the neighbors and friends I’m heading back up to Telluride to get as close to the stars, my spirit and my soul ,and of course all you good people !!! I guess the number I think of is 10,000…because thats who we are!!!
