When thinking of the elevation of Telluride, which number do you think of?

Billy on a map I have of the ski area from the year before Prospect Bowl opened, it lists the town station elev. at 8750.

However, when I moved to Mancos in ‘99, it was 7 under 7, that is 6993’. In the last couple of years a lot of the signs have been replaced, and now the Mancos sign says 7000’. I probably have a photo somewhere that says 8745’.

And if it is 8745’, if I’m in the balcony at the Opera House, then I’m 8750’, but that doesn’t tell you how high I am. :cheers

Also, originally from Florida, now in Nashville, and advise that camping in and amongst 14eeners is great, but you gotta have the stamina for camping on top of one. :giggle

(8,750 ft. :thumbsup )

Had heard that the Shelman Stage is 8745’ maybe just from JC’s Live album. But after a day on the Festifield, it seems like another 1k’ up Main St to the SOH! :lovedr

when calculating mileage from one town to the next the post office is usually the start and end point. probably the same for elevation?

I just tell everyone at it’s at very high alchotude :cheers :drunk

Thinking it’s somewhere between a vintage 1986 to a vintage 1999 . . .

I say 2000 plus feet higher than the highest point on the east coast. Made the hour trip from the house to attempt some high altitude malt beverage training, but the rangers just didn’t understand. :cheers
