What you can't live without....

Hope Lin, I live in Western Colorado, and those heat packs are a true life saver!! I use them for skiing, snowshoeing, camping, hiking, etc. They are great, and last for at least 6-8 hours! I use the hand and feet ones, and now they even have body ones! I get “turkey butt” really badly and I just stick those on my bottom and they keep it toasty warm all night. Totally worth the buck or two they cost! :flower

“And a bunch of friends to help you drink a toast :cheers
to your musical epiphany and listen to your story about it over and over and over…”

Ronnie, I love you too… and, of course, I will always share a drink with you and gladly listen to your musical epiphany (or any other random rabling) over and over again! XOXOXO

In Peace,
michelle

Oh! NO! Hooch! (cough… cough…)

Everyone that is SPECIAL sees the Little Red Hippos, and not only during the tarp run! They see them at Smuggler’s, The Home Brew Tasting and just plain 'ole walking down the main drag at Telluride. No honey, those Little Red Hippos are EVERYWHERE!

Of course, we all know YOU are SPECIAL!

Here, this should make you feel beter…

Just a Little Red Hippo taste of what’s to come in June! Enjoy!

Daniela, Thank You! Valuable info, for sure!

Hope Lin

Hah, it’s been known to happen… :lol

Hey, great link! Thanks! And thanks for backing me up on the hippos. I knew I was not going crazy. Or perhaps I am going crazy and taking you with me. It’s a short trip. Because it’s like saying to the dude next to you, “Hey, did you see that?” and he says, “No, what?” and you say, “That over there.” and he says, “The shoe sale?” and you say, “No, behind the shoe sale.” and he says “The pot of Tulips?” and you say, “No! The big red Hippo next to the Tulips!!!”. Ya know what I mean???

Hooch,
Actually, I do know what you mean! :lol

Take heart, you’re not taking me with you. Now, you were in my wake but I think for the most part you’ve caught up!

So… before I start this Safari in June, can you give me any pointers on tracking a Western Slope Little Red Hippo? I know the Eastern LRH are very elusive. I’ve only spotted three this year. There was a rumored sighting in North Florida, but alas, the spotter was stoned on Enchantment.

Hope Lin :pickin

As for the pajamas, some people just wear them while walking about from camp to camp playing their mandolin and then getting into bed is really simple.

My suggestion, if you’re planning on buying online, buy now. Last year I came home to my new tarp. I thought it was great that I could get better sizes online. Well, no loss, we used them for Hardly Strickly.

One more "must have’… Emergen C! It’s great at any time, but…it makes a particularly delightful morning cocktail - mix with water, add ice and vodka and AAAHHH… I feel better already:)

In Peace,
michelle

I can live without riding the ganjula :pipe2

the one thing i cant live without

A HUG!!!

Hope,

The Western Slope Little Red Hippo is, pound for pound, the most ferocious animal in these parts…especially if you corner them and try to take away their chocolate. They are most definitely elusive creatures who can be most appreciated if observed from a distance in their natural environment (a music festival) performing instinctual acts like grooming themselves, blowing dandylions, and sniffing out bits of chocolate.

You may want to bring Binoculars to the festival in order to observe the wild hippo population as well as other interesting native live and bands. Note how eloquently I brought my post back on-topic!!

One way to get a closer look at this western slope LRH is to bring “FAIRY DUST” … these creatures cannot resist the shimmer of fairy dust and/or glitter … though purportedly ferocious, they are even more prone to being extremely vain! :butterfly

OMG, you may be Daniela’s long lost twin. I just know I’ll be shaking glitter out of all my camping stuff for weeks after TBF.

Well Rhonny, although I don’t think you’re hunting the same creature as Hooch and myself, I’ll bring old tent poles for my sunshade and keep one close at hand just in case we run across a mad hippo.

Okay, gotta run. Currently hunting the car charger for the cell phone.

Hope Lin :pickin

Hooch - I love finding long lost twins!!

Hope - OK… I honestly was just taking a stab at what an LRH is… How about a clue? What is enchantment?

xoxo MG

You glitter people are all the same. Just stay away from my house the next time Ted Nugent is in town!! You vandals!! And no, you are NOT supposed to understand what that means!! Great…now I’m mad again.

I’m sorry but did you just threaten to stab a Little Red Hippo?? That’s horrible!!! But I’m sure a little utility knife would be very useful to have at the festival. BUT NOT FOR STABBING HIPPOS!!!

I would NEVER!! :eek

MG<----doesn’t stab!

Ted Nugent? Vandals? Glitter in your house? Reminds me of something else I can’t live without at festival… A little broom and dustpan to sweep all the “unwanted” out of my tent from time to time.

OH Rhonny, you reminded me! I know my forum status says I’m a ‘Regular Picker’, but honestly I haven’t played a thing in years, and even then they were wind instruments.

So… I’ll have to bring RECORDED MUSIC for my LITTLE RED HIPPO safari.

First choice: Flight of the Cosmic Hippo by Bela Fleck and the Felcktones
Second choice: The Enchantment by Bela Fleck and Chick Corea (May 2007 release).

Thanks for the ‘rain’ story. I’m hunting my RAIN SUIT tonight!

Hope Lin :pickin

Im not a picker , keyboard player maybe …but im NOT bringing a baby grand to festival !
