Gotta laugh at John for bringing up the Geek Factor , We have come a long way from just a good tent , sleeping bag , now its hot water on demand , lap tops , propane fireplaces …solar power , water power
were does it all end ???
No worries, by the time it gets around to being dark, everyone is so drunk they can’t even tell if the light is coming from your headlamp or if Jesus is coming to pay them a visit. They are especially great for making late-night visits to the porto-pots and making sure you don’t sit in anything your mother would yell at you about!
That’s about the only time I use a headlamp! :lol
By now I know just about every rock and log in Town Park by name.
I could probably find my way back to camp from downtown blindfolded. :thumbsup
Hmmmm. Bein’s as how I’m a girl and girls get cold easier than boys, I think the most important thing for me is warm clothes. I try to dress in layers so that I can go from wearing a wool hat and ski suit at 5:00am to a bathing suit and flip flops by noon, and then back into the ski suit when the sun goes down. A huge bonus is wearing your pajamas under your nighttime clothing so you don’t have to stumble around drunkenly in your tent, wondering where in the hell you put them and even if you had them, why you can’t seem to get them on. :cheers
Remember the year that Ratbastard needed one of those? It was the year someone found him wandering along the bank of the river about 2 miles out of town… no shoes, no glasses (legally blind that bastid is), no freakin’ clue…
I think I banned him from TBF for that one… and then banned him from…
A personal ‘Lost and Found’ tag is a great idea! I have often needed one of those stuck to my forehead for my return trips from the nighttime excursions to the porta-pots. The tag should show the GPS coordinates of my tarp as well as my favorite beverage.
Do you mean those little packs you tear open & shake, and they give several hours of heat? I’ve used those in my boots, and I think they are one of the greatest inventions in history. My feet get cold easily, and when my feet are cold, I am miserable! But those little heat packs are wonderful! Although, some people think they get TOO warm. But if I can keep my feet warm, I am a Happy Camper!
