What artists are you enjoying at the moment?

How about some Molly O’Brien?

I’ve been dusting off all my Tony Furtado stuff an LOVIN it! He’s got a band called “Banjo Killers” with a helluva shredder named Scott Law. I’d love to see this at Telluride this year.

and, of course, I’ve been listening to copious amouns of Railroad Earth. Very sad to see Johnny Grubb leaving the band after new years. Gonna miss that funky low end of his.

Besides the more popular ones mentioned (Trampled By Turtles, Cornmeal, etc) gotta say I’m excited for the Hillbenders main stage show, can;t get enough of that Telluride Demo Disk they had

My girl got me turned on to Cherryholmes, FANTASTIC stuff, family band with some great tunes, I think their style would mesh very well with Telluride

Another fun one would be Rvd Payton and His Big Damn Band. Saw them live at a small festival in South Dakota a few years back, FANTASTIC stuff. It’s a three piece group with his wife on the washboard and his brother on the ‘5 gallon pickle barrel’. Lots of fun songs, they got EVERYONE up on there feet, moving and shaking.

Did someone alreayd mention some guys named Sammy, Del, Bela and Everyone’s favorite Uncle Vince

Is it June yet?!

:cheers

and yes…I like using the word FANTASTIC

carry on

:thumbsup
:cheers

I always love the Waybacks at MerleFest. They would be a great fit for Telluride.

This new Saraah Jarosz kicks ass! How/Why did Jo and I miss her last year in Elk Park?

I just got the Mumford and Sons CD for Christmas and am lovin it. Can’t wait to see them live.

Johnny Cash… Did anyone see the Bio on him last night on T.V.? What an interesting man indeed.

Complicated, contradictory, hard lovin and talented. Bigger than life. Wow !!

Have all the legends and icons of my era all died and gone to heaven?

Wait there is still John Prine, Bob Dylan and a few others left. :flower

Someone else mentioned Pert near sandstone…I mean! The clogging alone is DELICIOUS!

Avett Bros would be nice too!

Elephant Revival!!!

Mikki, did you see the post from No Depression today about this cool project? http://www.thejohnnycashproject.com

Pretty fun stuff. The more seamless video (without frame voting) is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBmky9Tx2UM

:wave Hey! No I didn’t but when I get back from the valley today I will check it out. Thanks!

I just saw the band Rootstand on friday night. They blew me away. Definitely my favorite bluegrass act at the moment. I recommend you look into them. Great performers as well.

I’d really love planet bluegrass to consider the group RED MOLLY. They are an amazing group I saw in Bristol, VA. Gave me goosebumps and everyone I know who have listened is amazed.
