What are your best TBF memories?

Hooch bringing me bacon in bed in the morning. :thumbsup :hug

My son walking his first steps during the Yonder Mountain set this year. Awesome memory!

I do have to say after a few months of reflection, that Robert Plant and The Band Of Joy revived me, shook me, suprised me…

Just when I thought the thrill was gone (gee :huh is this what mature means :rolleyes, hope not :lol),

BAMMMM! Just like that, first song, goosebump city.

Really epic! :medal :medal :medal

Getting to meet all the Run A Muckers and being welcomed so warmly into their family. Being my fourth year at festival, my second in Town Park, but my first flying solo, that made a pretty big impression on me. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience this year.
:cheers

This moment in time, right before fest tickets and lineup info start flowing, I get this knot in my belly with antisipation, excitment. Each year a little bit older and a bit harder on the body. I keep thinkin, maybe this year I should hang back. But NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo, here I am, searchin for lineup clues. I am a full fledged TBF kinda gal. Till death do us part :cheers

Memories so many summers of music , so much to remember. I feel lucky to have just one. Johnny Cash…

When I used to pick up the phone on a special date in november, call up the Planet, order my ticket, and hang up the phone knowing I had a ticket.

Need Two!

I don’t have any memories to share just yet and I apologize if this isn’t the right forum…but I have no doubt that I will after this year. I have waited for soooooo many years to come to this festival that I can’t even express to all of you how much it means to me. You have no idea! I am completely beside myself just knowing that I can finally be a part of something that means so much to me. I love bluegrass more than you can possibly imagine and I feel so lucky to finally have the opportunity to take part in what I love so much. I am so excited to come meet everyone and be around people that share my love for bluegrass. If I had to rate this it would absolutely be #1 on my “bucket list”. I can’t wait to be there and to meet my new friends who share this excitement! I realize this all sounds a bit ridiculous but I am so unbelievably excited to know that I will be there this year after so many years of trying and not being able to make it happen. There is nothing better than the best bluegrass the world has to offer in one of the most beautiful places in Colorado and there is no way in this world that it gets any better than that…See you there! Woohoo!

You know what is so incredably cool. Almost every song I heard on Spectrum yesterday, I would think, seen em, heard that live. Every time another song would play that I had heard at TBF it would bring back the summer in TBF flashbacks. Totally injected into my soul at this point…

Well my best are still being made each year! My worst is trying to get a dang pass before stub hub and ebayers scoop em up. Oh and cracked dried up crusty Chaco feet  but then again maybe it falls under good memories! Can we leave yet?

:clap :medal ya, I remember that one!!

HI all,

My first post ever on the forum. I have been reading lots but was taken by this one as I have some memories. This will be our 3rd TBF coming up. 1998 #1 2001 #2 and now this with Town Park Camping to boot. YEE HA. Anyway we biked back and forth to our camp ground every day and night. Before I knew who Sam Bush was we got to the show and there were signs for Bush for President. Little did we know at the time, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN!!! They voted in the wrong one. :lol

We have never heard of Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers at the time in 1998. We heard they were playing one more event that summer at Targee? We asked to find out what a Targee was. We had to go to the back stage entrance to find anyone who could guide us. Little did we know we would follow up to Idaho and that Nick Forster would be listened to every Sunday morning on Etown. Life has been grand. Exposure opens lots of doors.

Hope to meet lots of you in the TOwn Park.
Live from Vermont!!!

:wave Hi Shinsu! Welcome aboard. You will most definitely have some wonderful memories after your TBF experience, ones that will have you smiling for a long time.
Do you know where you are camping/staying? If you have been lucky enough to get a town park ticket, you will have the most amazing time and I hope you can plan to be there early enough for the few days leading up to the festival so you can take part in all the pre-fest activities. Even if you are not in town park you can be a part of the pre-fest.
I look forward to meeting you if you make it up to Camp Run a Muck!
Peace,
Cindy Lou

:eek '99 I think… John Prine comes on stage starts playin an singin the sky has never looked that Blue ~~ an that’s jus on that poped in my head jus now ,

98, my 1st bluegrass, 3 or so in the afternoon, never been to Co b4, so the altitude, the canyon , the brews, etc, what a mezmerizin’ thing, then all the sudden this band we never heard of before, the String Cheese Incident starts playin, hoola hoops start a swingin’ people start dancin, …
Me and my buddies, were totally hooked!
This “bluegrass” thang is prettly nice!

See ya at the campground!

No matter what you wear, where you come from, how you got there or what your job is for 4 beautiful days its all about music and kinship.

The first time I went to Fest, over 20 years ago, I had no ticket. We just jumped in the car and knew this is the place for us to be.

No ticket and I sat by the river, singing with folks I did not know yet and all I knew was this is the place for me.
Next year I will have a ticket.

Kinship runs deep at fest, respect space and share space. All of us creating an experience for one another. Such a rare and beautiful thing. :medal

JAKE!!! The Ukalahle guy, the tweener he played was on FIRE!

Crying during the whole Johnny Cash finale. That was one of the best memories for me. When was that?? 2000 ish?? I haven’t been since I think 2004, and can’t wait!!! Got a TP pass, and yes… I’m a virgin.
Any advice for this year, I laughed my way through many older posts, thanks everyone!!

I’m pretty sure that was 1997…

Wander, visit, party,
live, love, laugh,
festivate, celebrate!

Repeat. :thumbsup
