Wednesday night activities??

We’ll be arriving Wednesday afternoon/early evening to Mtn Village. I figure it’ll be 5-6 pm before we have everything squared away at the condo. I’m wondering what will be going on Wednesday evening, would love to be able to meet some of the other ‘regular festivarians’ on wed. night, maybe hit a jam session or two (if they’re occurring). Any advice?

PS. Any more word / work on the ‘condo crawl’ … what night might that be on? Need to make sure I make adequate logistics plans for snacks and beverages (any requests?? ).

RUMBALLS! RUMBALLS! RUMBALLS!

:evil RUMBALLS! :evil Beware the dreaded RUMBALLS!
Have you ever taken a naked gondola ride? :huh
:lol :lol :lol

AAAH, Ok. I’ll be sure to make a batch of rumballs (anyone like rhubarb rumballs??) and bring them in tow Wednesday evening. Lookin’ forward to it.

Rumballs are provided, no need to bring anything except a festivarian spirit.
This is the official opening of the festival for Town Park. His honor, Mayor Tom, will again open the festival. Not one to miss! :thumbsup
As far as picking, plan on making an evening of it. All the picking camps will be lighting it up. Alot of great talent in Town Park! Do it Wed. because they lock TP down to only those with TP wristbands on Thur.
Warm clothes and a flashlight is the formal attire in TP, cause at 9 grand, the temp does drop quickly. :festivarian2
Festival!!! :cheers

However not lookin so good…

I do have a great alternative idea though…Not sure when we will arrive this year but our condo is Riverside and I will give you my cell #… :cheers Can we leave yet :huh

I will need to get a list of interested Condo Pickers :lol(that sounds funny), the name of the condo they are staying, arrival day and cell phone numbers…
from there we will know if there is interest enough to move forward… :cheers

Yonder wednesday night at mtn village of course.

where exactly is mountain village…
this is my first time coming to telluride and im gonna be there on wednesday night and would love to be able to come and see yonder
is mtn village in telluride, or close to…
tickets in advance, or at the show…

Yeah, like yonderphreak advises, stay in Mountain Village and go see YMSB at the Tellluride Conference Center in the heart of Mtn Village. 8PM, Wed. night. You can buy nightgrass tickets (to be sold end of this month i believe) which gives you access to that show and several others in town, or try to find individual tickets on this site. Also, Bluegrass Brunch on festival Saturday is an excellent event in Mtn Village. They usually have one of the main stage acts (e.g. John Cowan, Darryl Scott).

Mtn Village is nestled above the town of Telluride, and the gondola connects the village to the town. About a 10-15 minute gondola ride from Mtn Village down the mtn. side to Telluride town. Or a 7 minute drive from the valley floor into the center of mtn village.

Yonder starts the nightgrass schedule on Wed evening, at least they have the last ? many years. I saw it in 07 and the energy inside the conference center was infectious

Anybody know anything about a possible concert in Mountain Village on Wednesday afternoon? This is from the Minutes of the Town of Mountain Village Town Council Meeting on April 22, 2008.

On a MOTION made by Dan Garner and seconded by Jonathan Greenspan, Town Council unanimously agreed to approve the Consent Agenda, subject to noting that a Bluegrass concert on Wednesday will be for subsequent years not this year and reflecting that Mr. Greenspan did not make a motion on the item after he had left the meeting.

Looks like they were talking about this last year and were putting it off until this year.

Also saw in the minutes from another meeting that they were talking about extending the bluegrass brunch to all four days.

YMSB Wednesday night is going to be SWEET!

On a side note, does anyone know if someone who has a Warner Field camping pass can hang out in Town Park?

The answer is YES , Warner Field can hang out in Town Park !
enjoy !

Can mtn Village condo renters from St. lou hang out in Town park? :huh  :lol

:waveI’ve got a group of 10 from St. Lou (actually 6 from St. Lou, 1 from Omaha, 1 from Houston, and two from Boston - but all with STL roots) renting a house in Mountain Village.

:wave Thats great! We arrive in T-ride Monday, how about you guys? Which route will you be taaking if you are driving? Make sure your Boston contingent does not have any of that darn red Sox crap on! :lol :lol :lol :thumbsup

And no Astros junk either :lol :lol

Mountain village can come down for the festivites through Wednesday, But they check wristbands starting Thursday. :wave
Of course, us TP’ers don’t have a posh house with a hot shower at your beckon call. :lol :lol
Did you get the info on the stores in GJ :huh

“I will gladly trade you a hot shower Thursday for a homebrew Tuesday” :cheers

Might have to take you up on that! :thumbsup Might be fun to see how the better half lives, :lol All are welcome on Tuesday in TP for the home brew tasting. At wander-In Camp across from our camp, The Jailhouse. Ron and I are planning to add a little finger food to this event to enhance the fine barley pops!
Soooo, plan on Tuesday in TP to meet up with all the fine festivarians you have been battering with on the site.
Your group will have a great time and more than likely, make some lasting friendships. :cheers
Look forward to meeting all!
Jailhouse Rob

Oooooh Rob you can say that again! I’m seriously looking forward to all the pre-fest TP activities    I’m so glad I joined the forum before I booked my flights, which means that I’ll be able to enjoy chillin out with all you guys from Monday onwards!!! :cheers
Ahhhh, the weather is getting nice here in the UK, and what with the sun and the trees in blossom, my heart is yearning for the sun on the Colorado mountains, the homebrews, the food and the sound of pickers jamming… Ahhhhhhhh… [sigh] It’s gonna be AMAZING… I’m sure I’ve read it on one of the threads before, but there is something truly incredible about enjoying good music, food & drink in a great outdoor setting, it just seems to heighten the experience :sunshine
For my fellow brits, as Enid Blyton rightfully put it “food always taste’s better outdoors” :lol

On another note, I really need to ask, at risk of making myself sound like a complete fool :thumbsup what exactly you guys mean by “condo” and “gondola”?
Those words aren’t really part of the UK english vocabulary, and I can sort of guess from the context, but I’m still not quite sure what they mean…
