On another note, I really need to ask, at risk of making myself sound like a complete fool :thumbsup what exactly you guys mean by “condo” and “gondola”?
Those words aren’t really part of the UK english vocabulary, and I can sort of guess from the context, but I’m still not quite sure what they mean…

:wave Hi LaLagay, I didn’t see this post here. Not a stupid question … a Condo is like an apartment or small home. A gondola is a Ski Trolly that takes you to the top of the mountain, like a small mountain shuttle in the sky… beautiful… :flower

We arrive in Telluride on Monday. A couple will be driving, but most are flying. I am actually flying into Durango on Saturday and plan on spending a few days in Canyonlands & Arches National Parks in Utah before heading to Telluride on Monday.

No worry about Sox or Astros crap here, all 10 are Cards fans.

Same goes for you and that St. Louis Cardinals Crap.

Go Cubs

What part of St. Louis you from…and where are you staying during the festival? :huh

We’ve got another couple from the Stl joining us on Tuesday/Wednesday.

If we play our Cards right (get it…Cards) maybe we can get Sammy to give a shout out to his favorite baseball teams fans.

:thumbsup

:wave
Lalagay…it’as not one of those venetian boats. The gondola takes one from the town of Tellrude to Mountain Village. Here’s a visual :8:

Keeps running till 2am during the festival.

Nice link U…

Lady Bug,

Gondola = Sky Tram
Condo = Owned Flat (which are rented out during the summer because most owners only use them during the winter ski season)

Great photos for Lalagay. Go Rockies!

JO,
St. Louis… is Ragazzi’s still there on the Hill? Great place! They used to take care of our whole rugby team when we came up for the spring tournament. Can’t remember the name of the park we played in, but was a great tournament and the folks at Ragazzi’s were great and put up with us idiots. Great food and loved the fish bowls of beer! I’m sure when we started dancing and singing rugby songs upstairs, there was plaster falling from the ceilings downstairs!
We were the Old #7’s out of Memphis at that time.
Rob :cheers

Yes. Rigazzi’s is still there, I suppose it always will be, they had a fire a few years back but it was re-done and is still hummin’ along, The food is OK and they still serve the frozen fish bowls of beer. :cheers

I believe you probably played your Rugby in Forest Park. They still have a great many matches there every year. Forest Park has also gone through quite a renovation. It looks great and has become a central area for the city again. If I have my facts straight it is second only to Central Park in NY in size for an urban park.

Go Cards! :thumbsup

Thanks Jo!
Yeah…Forest Park. You helped spur the ole brain! Great memories of muddy spring pitches, greatly fought matches and food and friends on that road trip.
We did also go downtown to the Washington University area to some of the local haunts there. Great times!
Thanks for filling some of the blanks for an old player.
and by the way…Go Rockies! :thumbsup :cheers :lol :lol :lol

:wave No problem! It’s our pleasure. The pitch at Forestt Park has seen a lot of rugby through the years. Oh and speaking of pitches…Go Cards ! :lol
22 NL penants & 10 world series championships.

I live in Barnhart. We are staying in Mountain Village. Rented a 5 bedroom house on a golf course. Looks like a pretty sweet place.

Yeah, hopefully Sammy will be wearing his Cards jersey.

You going to be at the Railroad Earth show this Thursday?

Actually Forest Park is bigger than Central Park. I had to google to get the facts, but Forest Park is 1,293 acres vs 843 acres for Central Park.

“Head For The Hills” at Fly Me To The Moon Saloon on Wednesday night. Great up and coming bluegrass band out of Ft. Collins. They won the Northwest String Summit contest last summer and have been growing very rapidly over the past few years. They definitely put on a rockin’ show so if your free on Wednesday night, come down to the saloon and see an AWESOME SHOW!!!

This coming Wednesday night? Sorry, Slow Sunday here :lol … what’s the date Joe?

Auntie Hope

Condo is short for condominium. I think the others have covered what a gondola is, but just to be sure, it is pronounced gone’duh luh, emphasis on gone. Not “gone dough’ la”.
I should be riding it this week, if we get any snow! :rolleyes

I forgot to mention, there is usually a potluck, a free box fashion show, and Tom does a slide show or movie on Wednesday evening.

Hope, I think he’s talking about the wednesday before festival… I seem to recall H4TH having confirmed a show that nite at Fly Me To the Moon…

What is a free box fashion show?

Lalagay, a gondola is a specialist form of ladies toliet found only in the Colorado area.

Very similar to telephone boxes and shop doorways in London. :thumbsup
