It will be set up right by the park entrance by the Post Office.
Thank you!
Right across from the Post Office!
Thanks everyone— Great feed.
Add a virgin to the list…driving from Denver (not sure what day yet, but no later than Tuesday), camping Town Park. I’ve read (nearly) the entire thread (whew)…here are my remaining questions:
-
Should I bring a bike trailer to make departing on Monday easier (i’m imagining a Monday cluster**** of folks going to get the parked vehicle, getting it back into the campground, and then out again? I believe I can carry all my stuff in one departing trip to the parked truck. Will it be that bad?
-
Do folks generally let you have some space around your tent for sitting/eating/tables/chairs, or will the campground be like sardine tents? How should I “reserve” this space?
-
Are you all concerned about high stream runoff? Will the TBF music or camping areas be muddy?
Thanks all! -Will
Hi Will, and welcome to the party. To answer your questions:
- Yes, Monday is quite a cluster. Bike it.
- Throw a tarp to reserve space until you can set up everything.
- Runoff shouldn’t be a problem except maybe in the primitive area.
Thanks Hootch!
I just got a TP pass! and will be driving in from Austin (1000 miles) solo, should get in on Wed around noonish. I have a two person tent, what are the odds of finding a shady spot that late in the week. I came last year, but stayed in Mountain Village and just wanted to camp this year as the condo vibe was nice but not the same as camping… I play guitar, but more of a strummer then a picker, should I bring it?
It may be tight, but you’ll find a spot.
Bring the guitar for sure.
Welcome to the community. :flower
Thank you!
Hey all,
First timer. We only bought passes for Thursday and Sunday - and have a sprinter van. As all the campgrounds require a 4-day pass, I called the Town of Telluride to confirm we could overnight park/sleep in town. They confirmed they would tell us what streets to park on the day of… but in reading some prior posts and the TBF guide, I’m a little worried whoever I talked to in the Town was wrong.
Has anyone else come in/out for a few days and if so, what has your experience been with lodging, particularly with sleeping in your van…
Thanks in advance!
I can’t provide much insight for the van sleeping, but I know only TP and Warner campgrounds require a 4-day (since they include a 4-day). Lawson Hill and Mary Ilium campgrounds only require tickets to at least one day of the festival!
The problem with Ilium is the vehicle passes have been sold out since April or so and even then were 4-day pass only; Lawson Hill’s RV camping is 4-day only. Unless I’m missing something, even if they were available, all of the vehicle passes are 4-day pass required.
Essentially, if you’re lodging is a vehicle and you have anything less than a 4-day pass, there doesn’t seem to be an option.
Curious if anyone can confirm what Telly Police shared, which is that they will direct cars to appropriate parking where you are allowed to sleep in the vehicles. I’m probably being over paranoid, but tough to imagine a Plan B if they don’t let me sleep in the sprinter van…?
My mistake, I was speaking just of standard camping passes.
First timer, bringing the wife and an 18-month old. Anyone know if they rent chairs at the festival and if so how much? Traveling from Nashville and I’d love to have something other than a tarp to sit on!

I’m pretty sure that they don’t. If you’re driving in, buy some cheapo ones before you arrive. Otherwise you can check Timberline Ace in town to see what they might have?
Hi Y’all,
Just a question on logistics upon arrival to town. Driving in, will there be signs directing us to the box office? I assume there will be temporary parking at the box office so that we can exchange our tickets for wrist bands? Only after that is done can we drive to Town Park to drop off our stuff, correct?
Thanks!

There is no temp parking at the Box Office (which is next to the post office). Town Park only requires a ticket Wed around midnight. For your drop off, just drive to Town Park and they will let you in with your car for a 20 minute unload. After you’ve set up them go exchange your ticket for a wrist band

Got it. Thanks very much, BillyBeru!

And there are signs directing us to Town Park drop off, I assume? Will traffic be awful on Wednesday afternoon arriving and trying to get to Town Park. (Can you pick up that I am starting to stress out over this whole thing? Sorry…)

TP entrance is on the main road, on the eastern end of town - you can’t miss it - you drive over a small bridge.
Awful traffic? For Telluride, I guess, but don’t sweat it, it’s not that bad.
