Town Park virgin? Get your answers here!

Thanks for all of your helpful advice! I may have a few more questions in the days to come.

Also- sadly I don’t know of any other Town Park or Warner camping tickets- other than the ones that seem to randomly pop up on this forum or Craigslist…

I was under the impression that, other than Warner Field Tickets allowing you entrance into Town Park and vise versa, you had to have a wrist band for that campground to be granted access. In other words, I didn’t think you could get into the high school camping without a high school pass. I’ve never tried, though, so maybe you can. Anyone from the planet want to clarify this?

I don’t see anything under the rules, but are we allowed to bring beverages in glass to town park?

Town Park campground is fine. But no glass into the festival grounds.

Hi Tom,

I saw somebody ask a few days ago but didn’t see an answer. When does the townpark land rush start on Saturday 15.

8am

Hooch,

You meant to say “Noon,” right? :evil

Does anyone have any advice for the best spot to drop off camping gear? I’ll be in Town Park, but don’t have a vehicle pass. I heard that most of the nearby streets will be barricaded? But will there be a spot that I could drop my sister/stuff off at that’s nearby? Or would it be better to park in the free lot and take our stuff with on the shuttle…?

Thanks!

Depending on when you arrive, you can bring your gear in to Town Park, unload and then park in town as directed by Planet Bluegrass Staff.

When are you arriving, Pirate? Aargh

To echo and reinforce what the Pirate said, you are allowed to drive your car into Town Park and unload your stuff. When you enter a time stamp will be soap written onto your windshield and you have about 20 minutes or so to unload.

Billy I thought that Larry and Annette will not be coming this year. But maybe that has changed, and if so, woo hoo! :cheers

Does this only apply until Wednesday? A family member will be setting up the tent earlier, but I will not arrive until Thursday and will also have stuff to drop off. Can I still drive into Town Park on Thursday to unload?

Alas Cindy, things have not changed. We arrrrgh not going to make it this year. We are gong to be doing KOTO this year. It is killing me now. We went to Jazz Fest and had a ball but we just don’t have enough time off to allow us to make the 40th. I just love reading this bored and Erin psyched with you guys. :pirate

You and Annette will be missed. We’ll make sure to take a shot (or several shots) of Crunchy Frog in your honor. :cheers

If you have Town Park camping you will be allowed to drive in and unload before parking your car.
It doesn’t matter what day/time you arrive.
Just follow the directions of the friendly volunteers where you need to go. :flower

can someone tell me → about how far is the car parking for those with WF or PT camping passes?

are there a bunch of parking spaces real close, and then a bunch more a bit farther away and then if you don’t get to Telluride by Wednesday do they send you to Mountain Village or points beyond?.. I’m sure this is somewhere in these past 42 pages, but I’ll be danged if I can find it!
thanks

In my experience, if you arrive before Tuesday or so, you’ll be asked to park in Carhenge - a parking lot on the west side of town, about a 15 minute walk from TP. If you get there afterwards, you’l be asked to park in Mountain Village, about 25 minutes away from TP. I’ve never heard of Mountain Village parking overflowing to a third parking area. This applies to anyone not camping at Illium.

I’ve heard there’s no shakedown street at the festival, but is it straight for my girlfriend to sell her handmade prints around town/ the festival?

Definitely no shakedown street like you’d see at some other shows. I’ve seen people with low key signs up in front of their tents advertising shirts and things, so I think if you kept it subdued you’d be fine. But don’t take my word as the law - maybe someone from PB can chime in.
