Gran Centenario
Dos Lunas
Casa Noble
That’ll get you started

Don’t forget the Mezcal:
Chi Chi Copa
Pechuga or Topol
will also do just fine.

edit:----> and how could I forget the Corralejos?

:peace

??fatdaddy likes cazadores and i have had a littel don julio. fat daddy tells me that Patron is for menfolk only, and it will put hair on my baby breast.

Once the festival starts only those that have a Town Park or Warner Field pass can enter. Before the festival anyone can come in and visit.
The next closest campsite would be the high school, then Lawson, then Ilium. :cheers

Pechuga? Holy crap, Jerry. I bought a bottle of Del Maguey Pechuga Mezcal about 6 years ago. It set me back about $170. I admit… it was delicious, though! It’s a bit too pricey for me in recent years, plus, the chicken part of the distillation process doesn’t really appeal to my vegetarian sensibilities anymore.

These days when I’m looking for something to sip other than tequila (where I still fall back on Milagro Silver), I like Hacienda De Chihuahua’s Sotol and Del Maguey’s Crema De Mezcal.

So I got my lawson hill tickets but now I am having serious second thoughts and since the other two campgrounds are are not sold out I am considering refunding the Lawson Hill tickets and either getting some Illium Tickets or High School.

I got the lawson hill cus I wanted to be closer to to the Festival grounds than Illium but I want to stay up into the wee hours of the morning Jamming so the high school camp ground didnt seem like the fit for me. But looking at the pictures of lawson hill it seems pretty lame and I also realized that I could park my Minivan in Illium and Lock up my double bass during the daytime.

Does this seem like good Idea? I have just never gone before but I want my first to be as fun as it can be, so what would you guys do.

  1. Keep the Lawson Hill Tickets cus it is actually fun after dark

  2. Trade them in for Illium tickets cus it has better atmosphere and parking

3)Trade them in for High School cus you can still jam there???

Thank You all very much

Keep the Lawson
:cheers

:huh

Ok. So I have never been to The festival and after trying to do some research Ive become kinda overwhelmed! Me and my buddy Andy (both from Denver) his Dad (Ohio) and my dad and brother (Kansas) plan to go. Just wondering where I should start, and when is the latest I should get my tickets for the festival and for camping.

Growing up my dad and I used to go to the Winfield folk festival every year. I dont get to see him much these days and am hoping to make this a kick ass time (on fathers day no less).

One of the best parts of the Winfield festival was the evening picking and jamming with random people. So I am for sure interested in a spot where this happens!

Any help on a good camp ground (not too crazy but just “crazy enough”). I am worried because we probably wont be able to get there any earlier than Wednesday…

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appriciated

You may want to get your tickets soon, before they sell out the camping.
As a first timer you may want to check out Ilium for camping, as Town Park is sold out by lottery every year early.
I’d try to get there as early as you can Wednesday, if not Tuesday night.
There should be plenty of pickin’ in Ilium and I’m sure you’ll all have a blast! :cheers

Bump
:cheers

Bump, again!

I am making my first trek to the festival and have Town Park tickets, but don’t have a parking pass. Where will I have to park and what are your recommendations on how I should get all my camping stuff into Town Park?

Reading this message boards literally gives me goose bumps! I couldn’t be any more excited! Looking forward to getting my groove on with all you good people…

:wave Welcome aboard :flower
When you arrive in Town Park a friendly volunteer will meet you at the gate and give you final directions and some time for you to unload your car in the campground. Upon your exit the friendly volunteesr will give you a parking pass. You can then take your car to one of the many parking areas in Telluride or up in Mt village where you will be able to park your car and lock it up. It will be safe for the duration of your stay and you will not need it until the end of festival, when it’s time to leave :frowning:

:peace

We have to leave???

Keep in mind that the majority of parking at Mt. Village is in a parking garage, and the clearance is NOT very high. A tall camper will NOT be able to park or drive through the parking garage. There are spots on top, but I imagine they fill up quickly.

I have a question…First time town parker, but it’s my 5th TBF anniversary.

I am planning on coming in on Wednesday to set up camp for the weekend, will I have enough options for good camping to set up camp in town park or should I get there earlier in the week? Also, if I do get there earlier in the week would it be frowned upon if I leave camp for a night or two after setting to see some friends in another part of the state? Any replies would be great!

Get there earlier if you can! :thumbsup
You can join in on some of the pre-fest activities and take off to spend time with out of town friends. A lot of people do just that.
The earlier you get there, the better chance for a better camp site.
Coming in on the day before festival reduces your chance for a good site. :cheers

Hmm… I’m still working on exactly HOW I’m getting there, let alone WHEN I’m actually gonna hit TP… My problem is this: I’m gempified (bad ankle due to car accident) and will most likely be using at least a cane… I’m wondering if any of you kind folks might be willing to save me a nice spot… Maybe even somewhat accessable to the bathroom / showers? I have a small tent and promise to be a (mostly) well behaved guest / helper to whomever would be so graceful as to give this bubble girl a temporary home!! ~ Any takers? :flower

:bubbles (here’s where I need a cane walkin emoticon, lol)

I would recommend getting into Illium if you still can. Lawson is a bit closer but Illium offers a much better camping experience. You can have campfires at Illium and the social scene seems to be a bit better there as well. Lawson is a baseball field that doesn’t allow any chance of sleeping in past 8. The bus ride to Illium is about 5 or so minutes longer, but trust me it is VERY well worth it.

:wave Do the camps use their own logo’s? :flower
I was looking for that great poster Courtney did last year with all the camps on it but I can’t seem to find it.
