How far is free parking for Warner Camp ground folks?
Is there anything else that I must know. We plan to shop
before we get to town in order to save a few dollars.
This thread should answer a fair amount of your questions. It’s geared towards Town Park but should be relatively applicable for you: http://www.festivarian.com/index.php/topic,31794.0.html
1.Will we be able to set up our tent for Mon/Tues night in Town Park and move over to Warner Field Wed. morning? We have two camping passes for Warner.
2. Any recommendations for renting ATV or taking Jeep tour up in the mountains from Telluride? Any must see trails?
3. Do we need to bring our towels for the showers?
4.This will be our first camping festival after 37 years of festivals. Any must things to know about camping.
1.Will we be able to set up our tent for Mon/Tues night in Town Park and move over to Warner Field Wed. morning? No.
2. Any recommendations for renting ATV or taking Jeep tour up in the mountains from Telluride? Any must see trails? I’ll let someone else tackle this because I don’t know.
3. Do we need to bring our towels for the showers? Yes. And definitely bring quarters!! It’s $3 for 5 minutes of hot water.
4.This will be our first camping festival after 37 years of festivals. Any must things to know about camping. Warner field doesn’t have much shade so bring a shade tent or structure if you have one. You’ll probably want to be there early on Weds AM for Warner land rush so you can get a good spot. No glass bottles are allowed at WF. Charcoal grills are not allowed at WF but you can bring a gas grill. Other than that it’s pretty straightforward camping.
Once again Thanks!

I would ask if two people can take shower at the same time. But that might cost extra quarters. :evil :evil
We did 2017 Telluride Blues so have a basic idea of the layout. Running in at # 40 with tarp was not that bad. The prime real estate looks to be near the sound board. That works great for us, we like to be between sound board and stage. Telluride running of tarp is much easier than New Orleans Jazz Fest. Jazz Fest tarp running can be brutal. 2019 will be our 37th year in a row for Jazz Fest. Strong rumors has the Rolling Stones in the lineup this year.
Questions:
- What is the large area of land at top part of video used for at 3:00?
- What is the best area to setup tents at Warner Field? Great view of Warner at 3:12
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8C4gG7hzB0
- What do they use the area for in bottom left at 3:20 for at Bluegrass? Telluride Blues they had high dollar clamping tents located there.
Also, what do they use Town Park Hanley Pavilion for at Bluegrass?
Telluride Blues they used it for 2nd stage.
- What is the large area of land at top part of video used for at 3:00? That’s private land.
- What is the best area to setup tents at Warner Field? I haven’t stayed there but I’d imagine that near the outfield fence by the trees is most desirable because of the late afternoon shade.
- What do they use the area for in bottom left at 3:20 for at Bluegrass? I’m pretty sure that’s the kids area.
- What do they use Town Park Hanley Pavilion for at Bluegrass? Hanley - aka Werner Herzog is basically a multipurpose building. This building is open Wednesday-Monday 7am-11am and is a good place to charge a phone, grab wifi, or hit up one of the restrooms. There are no shows here during TBF
Thank you so very kindly for your help. We will be bringing some local (can) Houston beer with us.
Hope our paths can cross at TB so we can drink a couple of cold ones together.
I already know more about TB due to your kind help that took me several years to learn about at
Jazz Fest. Of course, there was no internet in 1983.
Is there a place in Werner Herzog that we can plug a coffee pot into.
Our game plan would be to bring a large coffee pot and search for
folks each day that need their early morning caffeine boost.
This coffee pot.
My pleasure to help! You can find us, Camp Trailer Smash, in Town Park up by the waterfall. My name is Lucas.
As for the coffee pot, I think you could swing it in Herzog. There are outlets on the exterior of the building as well. You can also find power at the restrooms/showers by the pool or the bath house in Town Park over by Camp Wander In.
Taking notes.
Find Lucas at Camp Trailer Smash by the waterfall after setting up camp Wed.
You know my name Fred and the wife is Cindy.
Houston, Texas
Fred, instead of bringing Houston beer, bring Jon Cleary or Trombone Shorty from Jazz Fest.
We go to JF or French Quarter Fest just about every year - just waiting to see the JF lineup to determine which fest we will hit this year.
I dearly love JF, but Telluride is THE festival. Yoou know how great JF is with the smaller Thursday crowds? Now imagine only 12,000 people, surrounded by snow-topped mountains listening to world-class music. Once you experience this, you WILL be back!!!
Hey John
Not sure if you know but Jazz Fest added another Thursday for the 50th year.
Rumors about 2nd Thursday. Very strong rumors that the Rolling Stones will play
with limit of 50,000 tickets at $150. We heard that the Stones will announce their
2019 tour tomorrow. Monday 11/19 The Jazz Fest diehards are against this.
For myself, get in for free each day 3 hours before the gates open. So no big deal.
2019 will be our 38th JF in a row. Only missed one weekend since 1989. You can
find me on their message board as Fred Texas JF Fanatic.
Hey, if your a Telluride Bluegrass fan I HIGHLY recommend Old Settlers Festival the
same weekend as French Quarter Festival. Great vibe, the folks there you make you feel
like family day one. Very laid back vibe. Only a crowd of maybe 3,000. You must add this
to your “to do list”.
Checkout 2019 lineup.
