Lineup Detail Speculation

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Ferg, it’s that he loves to money with the schedule to throw us curve balls. But there are some certainties…so here’s some of my guesses for the slots:

Opener:
Will Tim come out for a quickie solo set again? Maybe Jerry? Or maybe Tim’s band…although it’s a shame for so may people to miss that. I’m going with a Tim Solo set.

Friday night:
Oooh…this is hard. Here are my odds:
3:1 - Magnetic Zeroes
3:1 - Mumford & Sons
2:1 - Imelda May

Am I missing someone more likely?

Saturday night:
It’s gotta be Sam then Salmon. But who plays before Sam? It seems like forever it was Mary Chapin Carpenter, so I’m tempted to put AKUS here, but I think it’s more likely they headline Sunday night. Unless Mumford & Sons merits a Sunday slot? Oh, this is hard, isn’t it?

Sunday:
The Monks in the morning
The House band to close.
Before them? Can’t be Hot Rize this time…AKUS is my first choice, but if they play Sat night then who do you put here?

Ok, so what are your guesses?

Huckin, I would like to take some of the Friday night action if you are still offering after reading this:

You in? :cheers

I guess not Billy :lol

Well that will throw a wrench in things. I’m moving Mumford & Sons to Saturday after Sam then. That’s a serious stretch, but I don’t know how big the are in England…it’s like the Frames all over again

I’m putting my money on an unknown at this time. from what I’ve seen over the years, I would say Sir Craig has a few more tricks up his festivarian sleeve. I’m looking for an out of the box Friday night closer.

I can confirm exactly one set time right now…

Sarah Jarosz will be playing the honorary opening set on Thursday morning. :thumbsup

We promise: you won’t want to miss it. She has earned the respect of all of us - fellow artists and festivarians. She’s going to provide the perfect kickoff for the 37th TBF.

Excellent, thanks Brian! I’ve checked her stuff out, and it’s sweet…you’re right, it will be a beautiful start

So are we going to go in chronological order? Youngsters first, Peter Rowan last? Hey, wait…I’m probably older than Rowan. Does that mean I close Sunday night?

Or maybe you’re just trying to trick me into staying around to clean up afterwards?

You shouldn’t take advantage of us old farts…

Is she going to have another set as well, perhaps with a band of some sort?

Oh my. Gosh this looks like fun. I wanna play!

OK, the way I see it, there are only two real “certainties”, Sam and Yonder.
Brian spilled the beans on Sarah. I’d say the Monks playing the “gospel” set is a pretty good bet.
I think previous clues in this thread suggest that Salmon will be taking up its semi-traditional spot closing Friday nite.

Hmm… OK, so here’s a big hint that should advance the ball.

Alison is playing Thursday.

Talk amongst yourselves.

Hmmm… Gonna have to edit my list, should be an easy swap though. :thumbsup

So that leaves Imelda May and Edward Sharpe for Sat. Smokin hot no matter how ya stack em Ferg…

:thumbsup :thumbsup Love this years line up Sarah is just the one to get it goin. Hotdog, I better start taken my vitamins now ! Can you build in lobby breaks and dinner breaks. :flower

Well Letting Craig play does seem a little unfair, but as long as he keeps leaking tidbits, who am I to complain?

Wait a minute. What happened to WPA? I thought they were going to be here again. Am I wrong?

All I recall is that I always need about seven schedules, ten timepieces, and three people looking over my shoulder and deciding against food to go listen again. At some point on Thursday, I know that time is shifting gears and I will wake up Sunday morning and pack my stuff into bags and boxes. When the cosmic cleansing begins with the first set and tears of joy and sadness intermingle with the rising tide of energy, I think I love it the most when the most important things are sunscreen, water, and get a jacket before sunset. I am amazed when the day is over and each set is as good as the one before.

I don’t remember hearing them announced for TBF 2010.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

The ULTIMATE in Insider Information! I’m loving the fact that Uncle Ferg came out to play. Festi-Foul suspended. Play On!!! :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

SOOOOoooooooo what do you think PBG has up it’s sleeve? One or two more anouncments perhaps?? :rolleyes :rolleyes :flower :rolleyes

Think I’ll just reread last years program for that warm and fuzzy feeling to tide me over :sunshine
