I’m doubtful the rest of the line up announcements will be high profile acts like an NGR reunion or an SCI show just based on the fact that I think most of the key time slots are probably already filled with the vast number of other high profile acts already in attendance (Del, AKUS, House Band, LoS, Hot Rize). The only slot that might be open (at least from my perspective) is the preCloser slot for Friday (i.e. playing before Leftover). I’d love to see Hot Rize get an hour and a half for this slot, but if they get an hour and fifteen during the day like they did last time they were there, it could theoretically be filled by someone like SCI.
They aren’t always mellow. When they were there in 2007 they played Sunday night and it was a perfect festival closer. I’m hoping to see them as the Thursday night closer this year.
Seriously? Just because they are mellow they have to be afternoon? Why? As I said above, the last time they played TBF they were a 9-11 Sunday set. The time before that too, if I recall correctly. They definitely deserve a night set.
OK, OK, OK, picture this a warm, sunny, lazy Sunday kinda feel, an ice cold bev, reclined in your chair zone mode…
Al that’s who we need! :flower Some smooth , lawn chair groovin, Al. :medal
But really she is best indulged anytime not to mention the great bunch she hangs with. Great to hear she will be back.
I hope she whales one for the gipper. Man I really love when she gets loud.:medal
For those who don’t want to click it, it says they are playing Saturday, June 19th, at 8pm. Do you think this is the case since that would mean that Sam is playing earlier or later (but not his traditional slot)?
I doubt Sam is going to be playing any time but his traditional slot. In the past I’ve seen people list festival set times on their websites that are inaccurate. I bet they just wanted to have a time slot listed and picked a random time.
I’ve never been to TBF when AKUS has played, but I can’t really imagine AKUS playing anything but a night set. And I would just have to guess that they would be saved for a later set in the fest, and the closer for any day but Thursday since they are one of the bigger names at the fest. Straying off just a bit, I would love to see maybe Gillian, Dave, and Ron Block at a songwriter’s workshop. :flower
I would like to see them with a night set but I still want The house Band to close out the festival. The only other band I could would like to see get that spot would be NGR, and while I’m still praying, I don’t think that it’s going to go down this year.
BÉLA FLECK, ZAKIR HUSSAIN AND EDGAR MEYER will be in Oklahoma on the 17th of June. Given their history of overnight bus rides I’m going to guess we will not see anything “Bela” until Saturday and Sunday. Slight, slight chance of F, H & M on Friday.
Auntie Hope :festivarian2 :green
EDIT: Confirmation from Bela’s web page. F, H & M on Saturday. No time posted.
