it's nasty, expensive, and all the seating areas are taken huge waste of time

After receiving a notice from the TBG folks earlier today in my in box, I suddenly got sick to my stomach. It’s taken a few months to get over the stench of nasty people and the taste of dirt from walking around and around because of not having any place to sit. I wasted my money for 2ppl and 2 kids to see a great show, I wish I’d spent the money on a new TV or some CD’s. I couldn’t even see 1 act… the sound was lousy and had to park an hour away, just to get onto the 30 min gondola ride.
I’m telling ya… it’s a huge dissapointment.

for the brief period of time before being asked to vacate an empty space, the stench was pot being smoked in every direction… When a kid asks “Dad whats that stinky smell?” I know that your weirdo festival is not for families.

is this an early April Fool’s joke???

I’ve never heard of anyone having such an experience . . . sorry dude . . . nasty people? are you sure we’re talking about the same festival?? hmmm

So sorry to hear that you did not have a good time…The stench of nasty people??? That is rather harsh my friend… I smell nice :flower
Did no one tell you to bring a chair… A festival in not a concert it is much different .
Lousy sound??? Are we talking about the same festival ???
Buck up cowboy :flower Life is what you make it cupcake…

Stench of nasty people? Nowhere to sit? How horrible!

I’m so sorry your Telluride experience had to be one like this. Last year was my first Telluride and I quickly learned that festivarians are just about the nicest people in the country. Camping in Town Park made me feel at home within human company and gave me honest faith in the good nature of others.

It’s sad to think it could have been totally opposite for someone else. You should have asked someone if you could join them where they were sitting! Everyone I met there would have kindly obliged!

They limit attendance to 10,000, the sound is EXCEPTIONAL (One of the nicest distributed systems ive encountered with near seamless transitions, and folks who know how to run it), Dust is taken care of to the best of their ability (nowhere near what I’d call bad, but i AM from AZ lol), If you don’t like sitting on the ground bring chairs. ( I got there late on a day or 2 and was still able to find a very decent spot to call home), Mountain village was not an hour away, and those “nasty” people are some of the best i’ve encountered in my life!!!

It IS a BIT expensive for a festival, but for me its worth EVERY PENNY!

Couldn’t even watch a single act eh? Shame, you missed some GREAT music.

Sorry you were able to find so much misery in such a magical place!

I had to run to the valley today and I kept thinking about this post…
Really chaps my —. Some people can just suck the fun out of everything…

You hated it that much but yet you took the time to sign up for this forum?

I guess you just can’t please some people. :huh
They must have had it in their head that it wouldn’t be a good time to start with. :evil

Couldn’t even see one act? Wow there were times when I wish I could have been in two places at once because between elks park and the festival I was definitely torn. Throw in Sheridan shows and I am still trying to recover some missing parts of my brain. Well if it and us stinkies made you sick to your stomach than Bye Bye.

Normally wouldn’t waste my time on the forum by complaining but when they sent an e-mail reminder to get next years tickets… had to comment.

Yes! I did ask about a place that wasn’t occupied and I asked to sit. It was never occupied and I got tired of my kid asking why the people askd us to move!

Best thing about it was the availability of water to drink. I’ve been to hundreds of blues, bluegrass and rock concerts… all over the world and your pride and joy of a festival is pathetic! you guys should check back into reality!

Didn’t mean to take a dump in anyone’s easter basket… just wanted to help someone else make a more informed decision.

You know what? You are full of it. I was respecting your opinion in your first post but now you’ve crossed the line with your latest comments.

How can you say “Didn’t mean to take a dump in anyones easter basket” yet right before that say “your pride and joy of a festival is pathetic! you guys should check back into reality!”

And with that here comes the smite! :evil

well, i can say say that i have been to plenty of festivals…bluegrass…blues… and others…and after finally making it to Telluride this year (for the first time) i would say that it should be the festival by which all others should be judged.

Well gee, if you don’t think you’ll be making it back next year then would you still sign up for the Town Park lottery and sell me you tickets if you win? I’m always nervous that my name won’t get drawn and that everyone else here secretly hates me so no one will offer me their extra tickets.

I am not sure what planet you attended other festivals on, but I’m sure that they were not even in the same galaxy as the festivals held on Planet Bluegrass. It sounds like you have more problems than the ones that were caused by your experience at TBF.

I am overwhelmed by your negativity.I can not even begin to tick off the reasons that you are soooooo verrrryyyy wrong.

I will cut it short by saying, for our sake stay away.

Stay home and buy Cds.

Excellent Idea!!!

I might add, were you really there? Doesn’t sound like it.

I don’t know what you did wrong, but you’re the only one in tens of thousands of people that I know of that would not want to attend the Telluride Bluegrass Festival again and again after their first time.

All I can say is… peace be with you. :flower

:wave It’s ok, I’m glad you will not be returning.
Your energy will not be missed. :flower
Just gettin’ real :wave

I’ll give ya a wif, you’ll see. Cindy Lou thinks I smell like watermelon :flower
