With the 'Dusters already booked, how about another round of Greensky Bluegrass??? They get more awesome everytime I see them …
Greensky would be great. I’ve never seen one of their shows when they weren’t just fantastic. I loved seeing Neil with Buffalo Springfield at Bonnaroo 2011, but one of my friends saw him on his last tour and didn’t enjoy the show much. She said it was “too much jamming”. Well, that actually sounds right up our alley at TBF, so I’d be cool with seeing him again.
I would personally love to see Mumford. Last year was my first TBF, so I missed the past shows, but I heard they were amazing. I did get to see them at 'Roo in 2011, though, and it was the highlight of that fest for me (I wasn’t even that much of a fan until then). Anyway, I’ll be happy with almost anybody they bring in. There is one artist that I’m kind of “meh” about, but who everybody else loves, that is a likely candidate – Bruce Springsteen. Yeah, I know he’s the Boss and all, but his stuff after “Born in the USA” just hasn’t resonated with me. I’m sure he’d be a popular addition to the lineup, but for my part, I think I’d just let someone have my spot on the tarp and go grab a coffee at Baked during that set. :flower
I’m not sure how likely a candidate Bruce is, since he’s in Europe in June, but as a lover of live music I would highly discourage an exit from the festival if he were playing – he’s definitely a top 5 live act for me.
He may be great live, but I’m just not a fan of his music. Just a personal taste thing, I guess. I usually love “classic” artists, though. I’m really really looking forward to seeing Jackson Browne this year, and Fogerty was a huge highlight for me last year. That guy’s still got it!
One more +1 for Greensky.
I think they should be a staple of the fest forever.
Since they are rumored now…The String Cheese Incident
H-E double hockey sticks! They’re awesome!!
You must be a firefighter… It’s rumored that the ladder trash at Gus Rehm fire station are going to be replaced with a second engine company. RDTR :thumbsup
Howdy
Well, after being right it the thick of it for three or four years in a row, we’ve missed the past couple of TBFs. Got our TP all lined up and excited to be heading back this year. Lineups are a funny thing aren’t they? We’ve always appreciated the variety of music we’ve seen at a ‘bluegrass’ festival… much love and respect to the team that brings it together year after year. Without exception some of our favorite sets each year have been unexpected shockers, that’s the beauty of it. Sure, we’re excited to see favorites return and regulars continue to do so but being exposed to new artists is the most exciting. And I’m actually okay with some acts being there that I’m not all that excited about because some (or lots) of you folks are and that just means more happiness and good feelings all around. I know that if RRE is there that I’ll be able to catch a nap or go for walk. If Greensky shows up and gets a night grass slot, one more ticket I don’t need to sweat over. Snidey comments aside I’d be happy if either of them got invited just beacause I know how many people would geek out over it. Not me, but really it’s about the all of us anyway.
Peace, see you in June
There are rumors that one of the final two acts for TBF is “Ronnie and Jimmy” from the Geico ads!!!
I guess there may not be any regular slots left but what the heck- bring back The Waifs! I love those girls :love
Have the Telluride House Band act out every scene from the movie Kingpin.
No doubt Sammy is playing the role of Ish, right?
Mr. Bush would make a killer Ish! The million dollar question is, who plays Big Ern?
Man, Sammy would also be awesome as Big Ern. But…hmmm…
Maybe we have to recast: Sammy as Big Ern and Jerry Douglas as Ish.
Who is playing Munson and Miss Claudia?
Stuart as Munson, Bela as Claudia, Edgar as Munson’s crazy, hag landlord.
Need to give a nod to Split Lip Rayfield. They have a lot of great material to fit into any time slot.
Woo hoo!!!
Brown Chicken Brown Cow String band is gonna be there - they let their own cat out of the bag!
I’m so excited!
