DALLAS, WOODLANDS & NEW ORLEANS SHOWS POSTPONED - STATEMENT FROM THE BAND

To our fans -

Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery.

Sadly we have to postpone three upcoming headline shows planned for this week in Dallas on Tuesday 6/11, Woodlands on Wednesday 6/12, and New Orleans on Thursday 6/13. All dates will be rescheduled and will be announced as soon as we can; all tickets for this week’s events will be honoured at their rescheduled dates. We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour.

We’re all wishing Ted a speedy recovery.
Much love,
Mumford & Sons

Keeeping Ted and the rest of the boys in our thoughts and prayers

Haha! ZING!

I’m not sure what would be more restorative than some fresh and clean Telluride air. Hope he makes a speedy recovery and can join us all at 8,750’ :flower

No doubt. Maybe we should all sign a get well card? That would be a darn big card but how cool would that be for him?

I think that a big card is a tremendous idea, although I expect it will only be signable in TP!

Maybe on a t-shirt…inside and out…size XXXL…or perhaps a tarp that is past its prime

Kinda diggin the shirt idea. The 40th anniversary artwork with a few thousand sigs? Maybe long sleeved…

Pretty crazy news. I wouldn’t be surprised if the bass player couldn’t play the shows in Telluride. Luckily for them their are more than enough qualified bass players to help them out!

Might have to sign inside and out to accomodate that # or even close to it.

I kind of like the Tarp idea too, but we could almost certainly would want to go with New and not “Past it’s Prime!”

Would someone please be so kind, as to add a box of sharpies to the packing list?

I’ll bring some extra sharpies from my house! haha love both the shirt and the tarp idea. but yes, a new tarp would be better, i wonder how well it would absorb sharpie?

I always carry at least one Sharpie but have a pile of about 40, I will add a “few” more to the bag, fine point and lots of colors even, all the better to cram more signatures in.

And I wasn’t suggesting a tarp that’s seen one too many late night crunchy frogs, but one that’s been danced on just a little longer…Wearing down the protective coating that would make it difficult to sign

Can you tell I’m in prep mode? :lol

Is this going to happen? I’d be willing to buy the shirt if someone else will help me work on signatures?

I personally think it is a great idea and would be uber-grateful if people ever did something like that for me. I am totally willing to sacrifice my Sharpies to the cause.

If we could get it in a specific location that was accessible to everyone to sign with minimal effort it would be pretty easy to accomplish I think. I volunteer at the vehicle gate into TP/WF which is accessible to every Festivarian but I only have one shift after the music starts/general store opens. I can bring it up with my supervisors on Monday and/or at the volunteer orientation on Wednesday and see if anyone would be willing to help out…

Or alternately, someone(s) could go tarp to tarp in the festival to get it signed by who ever is interested…that sounds a little labor intensive for my drinking schedule, but maybe a social butterfly would be up to it.

Good idea! If that flies let me know and I will get a shirt to you.

BONNAROO & US TOUR NEWS

Dear friends,

It is with great joy that we can announce that Ted has been discharged from hospital and is on the road to a full recovery. The surgery went well, and the excellent medical team helping him are very pleased with his progress. He has been nothing short of heroic in how he has handled the whole ordeal, and now it has been medically proved that he does indeed have a brain.

Today, however, also marks the end of our Summer Stampede Tour. We were hoping to have made it out by Bonnaroo this weekend. But it is with sadness that we have to announce the cancellation of our scheduled performances at both Bonnaroo and Telluride Festivals, and our show at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, KS. If we could’ve we would’ve, you know that about us. We trust that you can respect our collective desire to encourage Ted to make a full recovery, and that this is based purely on the medical advice we have received.

On behalf of Ted, and all of us really, we would like to thank every one for their compassion and support at this time and we are very excited to get back out on tour as soon as we can.

Ted, Ben, Marcus and Win

Glad he’s ok. Bummed they won’t be there. But you gotta take care of yourself! Thoughts to all of them!
