Just made one last trip to the camp store to finish out the last of the gear we needed. Got to run out to our land this weekend and gather our kitchen set-up and we’ll be packed up for gear and clothes. Next week is food and drink prep then hello high country! Luckily tomorrow night Mr. Waters will keep my mind off Telluride for a few hours. Be seeing yall sooner than later!
Yeah when I saw Lucious would be with RW I was so stoked. I am seeing him Saturday. Definitely need a distraction from my excitement. This work stuff is not doing it. :cheers
The Burkes (Pat & Jenny) will be rolling in very late Tuesday night, if all goes well. Driving from Chicago, 23+ hours. I’m a first timer, but Jenny grew up in Montrose, and attended a show almost 30 years ago with her mom.
I’m bringing my mandolin for sure and possibly a guitar and/or dobro. But most likely just the mando, for space purposes. Mandolin skill level a solid ‘medium’. But I can chop along.
While we’re all here chatting, I had a couple questions as we begin to pack: What (if anything) is available for purchase at Mary E.? Like Ice, water, etc? Ice being the biggie For, you know… beer.
How late do the shuttles run? I would assume there are plenty of others, like us, who plan to attend NightGrass shows. So I’m assuming we’ll be able to get back to Mary E afterwards?
Hello again, :wave
to answer pburk, Yes there is ice available twice a day for sale. Last year it was a couple of bucks a bag. Water is free. But it is just a big tank that gets filled by the ice people. It is there and it is free. Other that that there really isn’t anything out there.
Yes the buses run after night grass. They usually run until 2:30 or so. They really try to get everyone back to the campground. It is WAY to cold to be left in town overnight.
My name is Misty and I will be camping with my friend Lisa. It is our 1st TBF!!!We are from Arkansas! It is just a short little 17 hour hop for us, so we are planning to leave super early Sunday morning. 10 days people!!! We are bringing solar shower/tent. What is the protocol for this??? Also I am bringing a portable dollar generator for phones and such… is this what everyone else is doing for a little bit of electricity?
I am getting more and more excited as the days come closer!!! Also any tips for camping in Mary E. would be super helpful!!!
Misty
There is usually around 350 - 400 people. The max is 500 from what I remember. It may seem like allot of people. But Mary E. is really spread out so it doesn’t get as crowded as all the other campgrounds.
:wave
I’m staying! I’m travelling from my home on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. So look for the Saltire flying from my tent and you’ll find me. See you soon!
Hey there! Katherine and Matt will be rolling in sometime Tuesday in our transit van. Driving in from Nashville. First timers to Telluride and we could not be more excited. Looking forward to meeting everyone! :cheers
I’m coming in with my friend Caitlin from San Diego, driving across. I’ve been trying to get to this festival for a long long time and finally doing it, really stoked!
However, i have my van ready to camp in, days off etc. But i screwed up and didn’t get a vehicle pass, just the camping pass. Is this going to be a huge issue?! I’m not sure what to do!? Help. I can’t find a pass either .
Yes, you will need to have a vehicle permit if you want to sleep in your van. There is still a good chance of finding one ether here on the forum. Or trying to find one there. The last one is NOT impossible, and I have seen passes floating around in the campground.
Yes, flags are still allowed in the festival. :cheers I just use expandable tent poles for flag poles. They work well and are allot cheaper than most flag poles on the market. But they are big enough that I doubt I would be allowed into the festival with them.
My name is Jonathan. My brother, David, and I are Driving from Georgia, 24 hours, with our sons in tow. We’re first timers. I’m curious as to to how y’all decide what your going to do?? With so many options, you can’t see and hear it all.
Hey Jonathon. How old are your sons? My son is coming too with his girlfriend, but he’s 20. Anyone else in Mary E got older teenagers, or young twenties kids coming? As far as plans for doing it all, we have for sure do not miss bands, and many we want to check out for the first time. But we’ll miss a few, some because we know we don’t really care for them, and others just because can’t be two places at once. We plan to do quite a bit of outdoor activities in the area beyond festival stuff. And we hope to be a part of many of the pre-festival activities.
Myself (Chris), Henry, and Nathan will be arriving Sunday afternoon or Monday morning with a pop-up camper. We’re coming from Arvada, Colorado. Henry and Nathan are 11 and 12. Mom (Traci) couldn’t get enough time off work so she won’t be joining us until Thursday.
First timers.
The boys are stoked, especially for the tarp run.
Are there any good ways to get to telluride from Mary E. prior to the shuttle busses running (say, around 4 am)?

Unfortunately at around 4 am there is not that much going on except for the night security person walking around. Is that for the tarp run? from what I know, the buses will be running in time for you guys to get in for the tarp run. That is one thing I have never really done.
:wave :waveBuuuuuuut, Camp “Sunny Side up” may be looking for a camp runner. We may need to talk. :lol
