Additions to the lineup

New additions to the lineup!

Who was added?

Sorry. Meant to be question mark not exclamation. I was asking if new additions would be added

I asked the same elsewhere and the concensus seemed to be ā€œPossibly for Sunday. Also late night comes out in Springā€ Iā€™d be interested in other additions as well. Iā€™m not familiar with a lot of these bands, so iā€™m building a playlist on Spotify to familiarize myself. I come from the newgrass end of things - Iā€™m stoked to see MGU, YMSB, GSBG, and Bela. Iā€™m sure Iā€™ll find plenty of others.

Iā€™m curious if other years had bands that werenā€™t really bluegrass (or adjacent?) in attendance. Not a complaint at all, just an observation. Iā€™m excited to simply be around the music as a whole.

Excited to see what late night shows get released.

Usually in Spring time they will throw out a couple more acts on the line-up. Iā€™m assuming around that time weā€™ll get clarity on the Toy Factory Project too. Nightgrass last few years has been announced around April.

Crossing my fingers hard for MGU nightgrass!

It sounds like Toy Factory Project will be a ā€˜tribute performanceā€™ to the Marshal Tucker lead vocalist Toy Caldwell, that will include Marcus King and Vince Gill - two pretty big nam Southern Rock / blues musicians.

There was a thread on the TBF instagram page about this.

They had Tenacious D a few years ago. And they often throw in some different uniqueish artistsā€¦ recently can think of The Drepung Monks, and they had a pretty cool African band.

Iā€™d love to see Shadowgrass on the line-up, or bring Twisted Pine back!

If we got a Shadowgrass X GSBG X Mountain Grass late night set - iā€™d be in heaven! The rest of the week would simply be extra. Even if it were ā€œjustā€ GSBG x MGU, the comment still stands.

The fest is always focused on newgrass (or as I call it, Samgrass), with a couple traditional bluegrass acts. But Bluegrass Festival is really just the name. The music is amazingly eclectic, running from newgrass to jazz, to a bit of classical, to country, to singer-songwriter (Prine played there a few times), world music, etc. Iā€™ve been to 22 fests, and I always discover a couple amazing new acts Iā€™d never heard of. It really expands the horizons. And like you I come from the newgrass side, and there is always plenty of that for me to get my fill. And in that setting, it all sounds good.

Looks like the daily lineup for Thu-Sun was just taken off the website, so maybe theyā€™re rearranging some time slots/performers?

Just noticed that, could also be band management not happy with performance order, or redoing or adding acts! Donā€™t recall seeing them remove the schedule after posting it, in the past.

I just noticed this too. In 35 years of following and going to the fest I donā€™t remember this happening either. Itā€™ll be interesting to see what changes!

Twisted Pine is AWESOME!

I was totally shocked that the lineup did not include The Coward Brothers (Elvis Costello & T-Bone Burnett). Their new collaboration would be a prefect addition to the fest.

Its all about who is in the areaā€¦i would LOVE the Infamous Stringsusters to be thereā€¦ya just never know!!!

I was lucky enough to catch 2 nights of the Dusters 3 night run at the Sheridan Sunday and Monday night while I was coincidentally in town to ski. They were fantastic as always. Barry Bales sat in for an injured Travis and did a great job. It was surreal being in Telluride for the first time with no Bluegrass going on. The town was so much quieter! I took a walk to Town Park. Cross country skiers skiing through our campgrounds. Figure skaters in the rink that weā€™ve used as a storm shelter. Was glad to check off Ski Telluride from my bucket list but it was nowhere as much fun as being with you all in Town Park!

Did you ask them to play the fest???

That would have been cool! I saw T Bone three months ago, touring with his own new LPā€“my fav of the yearā€“and he did one of the great shows Iā€™ve ever seen by anybody!

I see the lineup page at Bluegrass.com has changed again. The ā€œposterā€ is gone, and it just has all the performers, including Casey Chambers, who I donā€™t remember being on the original lineup. Looks lioke maybe sheā€™s replacing Lake Street Dive, which is too bad. Love Casey, but was really looking forward to seeing the Dive again. But who knows, Doesnā€™t seem like itā€™s all finalized yet!
