2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival - What NEW Acts would you like to see perform?

CSN!!

Wow. Just saw the Avett Brothers Friday night. Nobody sat down from the moment they took the stage.

It’s been a while since they’ve graced the TBF stage, and they’re better than ever. They could be a great band for late Sat night!

The soon to be announced new incarnation of Ratdog (with Bob Weir).

These guys were totally new to me. I searched the forum and don’t see any mention (admittedly I didn’t search hard.)

I would love to see them anywhere…but they’d be awesome in a setting like Elks Park.

They’re an old-timey three piece with incredible harmonies.

Over In The Gloryland

This act is SEMI-new. Way back when, Bela brought jake Shimabukuo up on stage. This ukelele virtuoso really lit it up!

Last night he was in Albuquerque. I brought 7 people who had never seen him, 5 of which had never even HEARD of him. They were ALL mightily impressed.

Jake would be a great addition to the 2014 TBF, this time as a solo act, but I’m sure he’d find room on stage throughout the weekend!

Anyone mention Sierra Hull and Highway 111? They would bring some sweet action!

Lord Huron please! :wave

Lord Huron would be a nice addition to TBF . I’m from SoCal too , any good Bluegrass down here ? I’ve seen Greensky and some other bluegrass bands at The Mint . I hear there’s a place on Main Street S.M that has bluegrass ?

Bring in Matt Butler to conduct an Everyone Orchestra. Let him look at the list of bands in the valley, and determine his own lineup.

The Hillbenders!

Bluegrass isn’t the easiest genre to follow being a SoCal resident. The Get Down Boys out of LA are a pretty decent group. I live in the OC and not many bars have bluegrass acts with any consistency. Villains Tavern in LA and Big Foot West in Culver City are good bars to catch some grass shows. You mentioned the Mint which I assume you speak of the dive bar in Bakersfield. If you’re in that area, there is “The Great 48” festival that takes place in January. We’ll have to meet up if you plan on being in Telluride this year.

Also, The Wood Brothers wood be cool in that venue. Those two are great performers
