awesome lineup PB!

hope we all get the tickets we are looking to score

:cheers

Damn, the four I’m interested in seeing have to be on the same two nights. Dusters vs Pert Near? Both sound so good! Same with Greensky vs Pete Rowan! Greensky makes it to Missoula at least once a year at a more intimate venue, so maybe Pete wins out there. But Pert Near at the Moon vs The Dusters?!?!? How can I choose? You did your work well, PB! Either way, I’ll be able to substitute the two closers I’m looking forward to least with an amazing Nightgrass show! Well played!

Not sure about Greensky and the 'Dusters at the Palm. Seated shows for a couple ragers?

maybe you haven’t been to the palm. lots of dancing room. big balconies and strong drinks. we saw peter rowan and leftover there last year. lots of room to dance and sleep, which is what i did through the second set of leftover last year. i think the palm is one of the best nightgrass venues.

Very nice work! You all forgot to list the LOS/SCI show though. Or is that still hush, hush.

I’ve been to the Palm once, for Emmitt-Nershi. At the time, I thought I’d never bother to go back…the sound seemed kind of dead, apart from the not liking seated shows. But I am open-minded enough to give it another try. Maybe. Pert Near at FM2TM on Friday, though. That’ll be my first choice.

The Palm is my favorite venue for shear comfort and is a toss-up with the SOH for acoustics. I think the Palm might technically have “better sound”, but there’s sweet spot @ the SOH when a band’s mix is dialed in and the venue becomes another “instrument” in itself.

As far as being seated, it depends on the show … saw ENB two years ago and LOS/Rowan & McCourey’s last year. The LOS show was much more of a free for all, but the Rowan show was very laid back and people mostly kept to their seats. I think ISD & Greensky will lean more toward the party and not sure about Elephant Revival … being a bit more folky, but it’s a Saturday night.

Quick question:

given the non-transferrable nature of M&S tickets, if somehow my group gets massively lucky and ends up with more tickets than we need, will there be ANY way to unload those extra tickets to folks who want to go to the show? I completely understand why those tickets are non-transferrable, but I’d hate to get really “lucky” and end up with extra, unusable tickets when other festivarians would probably love to go, even if I had to give them away…

Sure, but you would have to bring them with the primary ticket holder as a guest.

Here:

2.Non-Transferable. All tickets for this show will be strictly non-transferable. At the festival box office you must present a valid photo ID that matches the name on the lottery entry. This name cannot be changed for any reason. Sorry, there will be absolutely no exceptions.
3.Concert Wristbands. After presenting a valid photo ID at the festival box office, we will place non-transferable wristband(s) on confirmed ticketholders. If you purchased a second ticket you must bring your guest with you to will-call at this time so we can place the non-transferable wristband on your guest.
4.Festival Box Office. Wristbands for this show must be picked up at the main festival box office from 1pm - 9pm on Saturday, June 22. Will-call pickup for this show will not be available at the Sheridan Opera House.

That’s fair I suppose. Didn’t really like the idea of just finding someone on the street to sell/give tix to (i’d rather have sold them pre-fest or given them to the “last man out” of the lottery), but it’d be fun to make a stranger’s day like that.

You could still sell them pre-fest, or pre-arrange the transaction anyway. Just have to have some trust on both ends of the deal - that the other person (buyer and/or seller) will show up at the box office at an agreed up time.

I’ll be very interested after I get shut out! :thumbsup Thinking that this forum will be able to connect the unfortunate souls with the super lucky folks? :cheers

:thumbsup Me, too!

interesting terms/conditions

  1. I understand that these concert wristbands must be picked up at the festival box office on Saturday, June 22 between 1pm - 9pm, and that will-call pickup will not be available at the Sheridan.

  2. I agree that I will not sell any NightGrass tickets for more than face value. I understand that if I violate this agreement I will be liable to Planet Bluegrass for the amount the resale price exceeds the original purchase price.

would have cost some folks a pretty penny last year, given what I heard some people paid for some of their nightgrass tickets.

It will be very difficult to enforce #6, but hopefully it works as a deterrent.

Yeah and with everybody having to be present, I doubt someone will get their wristband on and then say 'Ha ha! I paid $50 for the ticket you b@st@rd!! You owe them $15!"

Looks like Greensky at the Sharidan, Stringdusters @ the Palm, and Elephant Revival w/Sarah @ the Palm.

Looks to me like you’re hiking to Palm all three nights? :cheers
