Florida festivarians getting a special treat this Saturday with a David Bromberg Quartet (hoping for a TBF SLOT) show at the Plaza in O’town…YMSB kicker the following Thurs. WOOHOO
Must it take a life for wanting eyes
To see Shellman again
Forty years with Sam Bush
Have jammed us all along
What picker rests while on his solos we dance
Forgotten Hartford burns
The King has led the crowd into a frenzy
and the poser pit falls down
Must it take a life for wanting eyes
To see Shellman again
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin’ drunken bluegrass songs
I watch and stare as Herman`s eyes
Turn a darker shade of red
An Anahuac calls out
In a glorious echoed shout
Must we starve on crumbs from long ago
Wonder if New Grass Revival will again
Is it a great or little thing we heard
Bounce off the canyon walls
Must it take a life for wanting eyes
To see Shellman again
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin’ drunken bluegrass songs
I sit in and dwell on faces past
Like memories seem to fade
No song left but C D and G
And soon we’ll all turn grey
But may these picks rise to walk again
As I stroll around Town Park
When the blossom flowers in each our hearts
Shall beat a new found flame
Must it take a life for wanting eyes
To see Shellman again
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin’ drunken bluegrass songs
Cause we find ourselves in the same old mess
Singin’ drunken bluegrass songs
Singin’ drunken bluegrass songs
i’ve been having the pleasure of going to his new venture terrapin crossroads many times since it opened last year. stood not 10 feet in front of him and his amazing bass rig for many intimate free shows in the restaurant. he is a master at the bass even to this day and it is a pleasure to see him in this setting after so many years of large venues with the dead and furthur.
on that note not really sure how good an all bass trio with les and victor would be but certainly could be interesting. les will be at terrapin again in march with duo de twang, hopefully phil sits in this time.
Came up to Aspen to hear and see Bella Betts and the Little Stars, but they had to cancel. She’s a 12 yr. old Coloradan who plays the mandolin. Her new album is out called Lights Around a Curve.
I figured since Los Lobos played at TBG that Grupo Fantasma might be a nice little addition. Recently saw them in San Antonio. Bring your dancing shoes is all I have to say because you are going to need them.
YES!!! I wanted to go to their show last night in Ames… but I didnt get paid till Midnight last night, and couldnt go… Hope they come back through Iowa again soon. Or may just have to make the hike up to Minnesota to see them. Swander99, What say you??? :cheers
