I know Telluride has it’s instrument workshops and Rockygrass has the Academy preceding it, but, are there any workshops at Rockygrass itself, or is learning centered around participating in the jams?
I don’ think RG holds any workshops during the festival…however the night jams offer all levels, from novic to advanced… There is always a camp or two willing to work with others…
and most jams are open to pickers… :cheers
There are some “performance workshops” in the pavilion during the festival. It just depends on the year/ performers/ schedule.
For instance, The Packway Handle Band did a “vocal harmonies/ single mic workshop” last year.
The hour long set was a mixture of their songs as well as them talking about their mic set up and harmonies.
