People…Helping People…!!! :hop

Okay…so I really struggle to bite my tongue sometimes. First off…

The Avett Brothers, in my opinion, have gone down-hill. After Emotionalism(a great album), they came out with this new record that, as much as I have tried cannot get very into. Some of the stuff is pretty good but a good portion of the album is WAY to pop-music-ish for me. I would not say anything about these guys if it was not for a not-so-good show expierence I had at their most recent visit to Wisconsin. The crowd was Dave-Matthews Band like, and the Avetts performed with VERY little energy, passion, and fire, which actually used to define their shows to me. I guess I am just bummed out about this transition that they are taking and feel that it is very negative. Then again, it’s their train ride…Im just deciding to miss the train.

I cant even state how much I would like to see…

Railroad Earth
Cornmeal
Trampled By Turtles
Pert Near Sandstone
David Rawlings Machine
Old Crow Medicine Show
Drew Emmit Band

added to the line-up.

And my randoms…

Bob Dylan
Neil Young
Maldives (Awesome band out of the state of Washington. Check them out for sure.)

Right BillyBeru. My bad. I will definitly remember to keep any opinions that might upset anyone to myself in the future. My mistake.

The Bob and Neil Review would be great and the fest is in a ballpark. Saw Bob at the State Fair in Phx and he rocked. Just kicked butt. Grinned the whole time doin’ it too.

REK, Guy, Joe, Butch, jimmy dale, Terry Allen,

Wishin’ list: John Hartford, John Hartford, John Hartford

Please Please Please pay Ted Williams to give up John Hartford. We miss him.

 1. I second the Toubab Krewe sentiment, but will be seeing them for the umpteenth time in March so can make it through TBF without them.
 2. Also second The Avett Bros (yes the new album is more pop-ish, but I think a return to TBF would remind them what they’re supposed to be doing).
 3. EmmyLou, Allison Krauss, Sarah Jarosz, Abigail Washburn and Sara Watkins- I’m seeing Dueling House Bands
 4. NO RAIN!!!

:cheers

JesiRae42, that is a most EXCELLENT IDEA! Why not have the ladies open for The House Band and then have the ladies sit in with The House Band for a closing SUPER JAM on Sunday night. TRULY BRILLIANT!

:eek OH UNCLE CRAIG!!!

Dustin, Brian, you guys on this one??? :thumbsup

Auntie Hope :festivarian2 :green

I third Toubab Krewe would be awesome at Telluride!!! :cheers
They are one of my top 5 favorite bands

John…

Butler…

Trio…

'nuff said…

But, but how will we know when one song ends and the next one begins??? :lol We will just keep dancing till we drop or they stop :woohoo :festivarian :woohoo

John Prine, Dweezel Zappa, Steve Martin, Stephen Kellog and the sixers,… :medal

Me too!!!

Thanks Auntie Hope :flower !!! I try to have a good idea every now and again…figured this was a better show of girl power than having the Spice Girls reunite at TBF-although that could be rather interesting in itself :giggle

also diggin the Steve Martin thing…nothing better than a man with a sense of humor and a banjo :thumbsup

Yes, but which came first? The Banjo or the sense of humor? :lol :evil :lol

Auntie Hope :festivarian2 :green

hmm…that is more of a conundrum than the chicken and the egg. :huh

they undoubtedly go hand in hand because no serious man would pick up a banjo.

which is why no one likes a serious man

I second the Trampled By Turtles suggestion :thumbsup

Scott Law & Tony Furtado tweener

You’re a good man :thumbsup
I want them dead center in the line up possibly with Darol…

:wave Is Mark O’Connor done with TBGF or whats the story? :huh Did I miss something besides him being world wide national classical now? :wave

Bellville Outfit
March 4th marching band
David Rawlings
Levon helms band
Sarah Siskind

Saw “Band of Heathens” in Durango this last Sunday- very talented group. The stage in Telluride wouldn’t be too big for them. (Just missed “Greensky Bluegrass” in DRO on Saturday.)

“Iron & Wine” would also be an excellent choice.

While neither of these bands are bluegrass, each would mesh well with the general vibe.
