I have become a fan of We Banjo 3 from Galway Ireland and it would be great to see them at TBG. They are blending traditional celtic music with bluegrass as Celtgrass and are dynamic live performers. Their newest cd Haven has done really well.
I still remember warmly the performance by Lau several years ago. Tying together the roots in Telluride. Their song “Ghosts” is a regular on my playlist.
Too bad they didn’t make it on to the lineup this year … it likely would’ve established a more symbiotic relationship with the festival moving foward.
Not saying it can’t still happen, but they might be more inclined to hold tight for their asking price re: TBF in subsequent years … and I wouldn’t blame them given their quick rise.
Saw Langhorne Slim play up at Copper Mountain a couple of weeks ago. Have always thought he would be a great artist for the early/mid afternoon time frame. Really engages the crowd and sound is good too.
I found a mighty fine strong Bluegrass to the bone Band. High Lonesome. Really good Bluegrass. Not sure they would travel all the way to Tride but dang sure would be a great set. It is really hard to find fresh hardcore Bluegrass. Gotta look hard.
