Who would you like to see on the town park stage in 2019?

Leftovers website has them in Telluride on Thursday 20th. Utah on the 21st. I’m wondering if they will be headlining or not on Thursday evening. Isn’t that typically the house bands night? Also shows they are playing another show in Idaho on same day as Telluride???

I’m thinking House Band headliners Thurs, and then LOS as late late show. Bela et al are in Taos Saturday, so that means House on Thurs and Flecktones headline Friday.

sometimes bands list the first day a festival starts as a placeholder on their tour listing, especially if festival schedules haven’t been ironed out yet …

Salmon could be playing Idaho on June 20 > Utah on June 21 > Telluride June 22-23 … hope they play NightGrass !

:wave Bill Murray as MC it would be epic and I bet he would do it.

That would be the most amazing thing ever!!!

Michael Cleveland and the Flamekeepers would be amazing. I’ve been wanting to see them live since I first heard them a few years back, but unfortunately they haven’t made it to my neck of the woods yet. They’d be an awesome addition to Telluride, as a band, and I’d only assume Michael would sit in with many acts. I know they have to be on PB’s radar because Michael is sitting in with Hot Rize at the Boulder Theater coming up soon.

Dear Planet, please keep this amazing artist at the top of your lists!

Very well known to the Planet as MC and the F :burn have played RockyGrass three times.

I would 2nd MC and the F. Just saw them on Bluegrass Underground and was blown away. They absolutely smoke :medal

Last night while watching youtube concerts, my wife and I realized its been since 2010 since we’ve seen Gillian Welch perform. I will never forget the first time I saw her. It was in Fayetteville AR. Outside of O Brother I was not familiar with her songs, but good friends and NPR said I should go so I did. I stood front row center for the entire show, and will admit I shed many tears that night. The music had me completely captivated and took me away to somewhere else. I ended up buying every album they had available after the show. And David Rawlings invited me backstage to meet Gillian, and Old Crow who were the opening act. It was truly an amazing experience.

I’d love to see/hear Gillian and David in Telluride.

If memory serves me, they were last in Telluride in 14 as the David Rawlings Machine great show!

Rapidgrass. The fiddle player blows my mind.

See that Erik Yates from Hot Buttered Rum is joining RRE for their Winter dates.
For me, there are a few RRE tunes, that just miss something without Andy on the Banjo. Head for one. Always loved the Banjo/Mando back and forth vibe in that song live.
So, I’m hoping to catch an RRE Winter show, and see how Erik handles those rolls that I miss so much, since Andy has passed. :frowning:

Maybe sneak in Elvis, Marcus, Rhiannon , and Taylor with Jim and do a set of The New Basement Tapes! Wow! :burn :cheers

BILLY STRINGS.

I know I’m a bit late to the game, but we recently discovered Kurt Vile and the Violators! I’m certain he’d be a welcome addition to any TBF lineup.

It MUST be time to entice Alison Kraus to Telluride again, surely she asked with hope in her voice.

The Stringdusters have a big gap in their schedule, from June 15th to July 11th. Since Travis Book will be there for Broke Mountain, maybe the rest of the band will join him.

Sorry to report that Alison suffers from migraines and a condition that closes her throat at times. From what I understand she is taking a break for now. We wish her well and miss her very much.

You are going to have to hold that thought Leslie. :flower

Nathaniel Ratcliff would be fun.

I see that Alison is scheduled for Mountain Jam the week before Telluride so there’s still hope. It seems like she was at Telluride just about every year in the 90’s. Still remember the first time I saw her in the Sheridan Opera House in 1989 with Sam, Jerry and Bela in her band.

Oh wow! That is making me very excited. Don’t get me wrong, I would go no matter who was on stage but it’s such a long way to get to US and I’m always hopeful that I might see there some of the people who shaped my musical education and who never tour Australia. AK and Union Station are kind of my Holy Grail. They have never toured here and I’ve always wanted to see them live.

So, crossing my fingers ( again) but no matter what, I’m always grateful for the performers we get to enjoy and the friendship and love at our festival.

Ps it’s our last weekend of summer. That always makes me a bit wistful but it also means that Festival is getting closer - is it June yet?
