Who would you like to see at FolksFest?

I like to get people talking about and making suggestions for who would be excellent acts for next year’s FolksFest. I have been thinking quite bit myself for some out of the box artists who might be a good fit. I saw Jason Mraz live and was completely blown away. I would also love to see some of the new alt folk acts like Mumford and Sons.

So, let the great music suggestions fly!

Band of Heathens
Serena Ryder
Band of Heathens
Serena Ryder
Band of Heathens
Serena Ryder…
and just one more - The Band of Heathens

^5 for the BOH. More Texas music! Robert Earl Keen, The Gourds, The Trishas, Alejandro Esccovedo, Carrie Rodriquez to name a few. :cheers

I’ve recently found out about this duo called honeyhoney and think they’d be a fit

I know Ryan Adams didn’t go over too well for a lot of people at TBF a few years ago. But his new solo CD, Ashes and Fire is really good IMHO and a solo acoustic set at Folks would really be badass.

Bring back Ben Sollee, Shawn Mullins and Matthew Kahler, Tyler Lyler would be awesome too

Cliff Eberhardt :flower Mindy Smith, I think her insightful writing is beyound her years. Old soul.

According to Darrell Scott’s website, he’ll be there.

Blind Pilot
The Avett Brothers
The Decemberists
The Civil Wars
The Head and The Heart
Ryan Adams (solo)
Jessica Lea Mayfield
Elephant Revival
Good Old War

Serena Ryder
Amy Speace
Mary Gauthier
Vance Gilbert
Dar Williams
Patty Larkin
Buffy Sainte-Marie
John Gorka
Tim Ericksen
Megan Burtt

Couldn’t agree more!

Jason Isbell

Rich Robinson – his new solo cd is AMAZING (and it would be a good follow up to Chris Robinson playing last year).

Band of Heathens would be most excellent!

Here are a couple more…

The Steel Wheels
JoyScout
The Rescues
Gareth Asher and the Earthlings

Right now, The Steel Wheels are absolutely blowing my mind…

Edie Carrey
The Wood Brothers

David Mayfield Parade!

Honeycutters
Mike Farris
Ryan Montbleau

Andrew Bird!!!

So far, the first announcements look good. That said…here’s a few suggestions:

Bruce Cockburn
Richard Thompson (he could come every year as far as I’m concerned)
Shawn Colvin (solo acoustic)
David Crosby & Graham Nash
John Haitt
Acoustic Hot Tuna

But the one artist I wish whom would return to the Planet Bluegrass stage the most right
now is…

BAKA BEYOND

Josh Ritter
Danny Barnes
Bright eyes
Joe Pug
Basis Bulat
Lost in the Trees

Jason Mraz would be great, he has an awesome live show! Id also love to see Ray LaMontagne, Mumford and Sons and The Allman Brothers :o)
