Who are you listening to?

Hey Swander! Missed Bluegrass this year, too…was too heartbroken to even read the forum for months. Got lucky enough to get to Blues & Brews this past weekend instead. Hope all’s well and we’ll see you in 2015!

Del, one smooth operator :medal

Del is so genuine, but his voice is so real. And his band is one of the best. Jason Carter has to be the best bluegrass fiddler right now. I love StuBob and will go out of my way to hear him, but Jason fits Del’s group perfectly. If you haven’t heard Robbie’s first CD, you should check it out. Great playing and his backup group is pretty good too.

I hope they can make it to Telluride in one form or another in 2015, and bring along Keller! Maybe we can be in adjacent gondolas up to Mountain Village.

Today I need inspiration to file by. If you saw this pile to file you would faint! LOL! I HATE TO FILE!!!

So, there are so many new CDs out right now. What a great world we live in!

Jerry Douglas and the Earls Of Lancaster, John Cowan has a new one out, Frank Solivan and the DK, Tim O has one as well. Music to forget I am actually going to file the pile!

YESSSSSSSS!!! New music, like Sunday and pancakes!,

I’m reading Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die, so I’ve been listening to a lot of Willie the past few days. I plan on exploring some of the other artists that he references in the book soon.

Great book! I love the bit in there about Leon Russell.

I’ve been listening to Dead Winter Carpenters quite a bit recently. And The Tallest Man on Earth. Love them both.

Also love the Leon Russell story in the book. Great stuff. And DWC are playing near me soon (Cleveland) so I’ve been listening to them quite a bit as well.

Great minds think alike! :cheers

Female solo artists are some of my favorite listening. Jenny Lewis “The Voyager” is the object of my current girl crush. I have watched her itunes festival several times. Courtney Barnett 2013 release is still playing on my ipod and in my head. She is young witty and her lyrics make me laugh. On the darker side, Angel Olsen. Taarka seems like a natural fit to our fun.

After seeing them for what I believe is the 8th time, DWC has jumped into my five favorite touring bands. Those guys can jam! I’d love to see them at Telluride next summer!

Barr Brothers :thumbsup
Courtney Barnett :thumbsup
Jenny Lewis :thumbsup

New Leftover Salmon :thumbsup

Big year for old faves, new Hot Rize, new SCI, waiting for new Sam.

Three Bells - Mike Auldridge, Jerry Douglas, Rob Ickes. (Sweet dobro music.) :medal

The Earls of Leicester - Jerry Douglas

When I’m Free - Hot Rize

I’ve been really enjoying some Yonder. Bought a few new soundboards from their website and I’ve been getting down to those.

I also bought the soundboards from The Dusters’ Halloween run and The Festy, so those have been in heavy rotation. I love being able to buy high quality live recordings from my favorite bands! Such a cool way to get new music and support the bands you love!

The Box Cars!!! WOW really good! :medal

I’m now on a Gaelic Storm kick. If anyone has their set from Telluride in 2009, I’d love to get it. I think it might be time for them to return to the valley.

Rose’s Pawn Shop released new music in September. This band has been a favorite of mine and I am so happy they finally put some new music out.

Bob Dylan turned over a fistful of lyrics he wrote during the Basement Tapes years to TBone Burnett, who then enlisted artists like Elvis Costello and Rhiannon Giddens to write music and record the new/old tunes. It’s called “Lost on the River” and I can’t get enough of it.

I hear ya Dean! OUTSTANDING! :medal :medal

Warren Haynes :medal :medal :medal :medal :medal :medal

Can whatever this link is leading toward please be a serious consideration? It seems the most logical way to get Warren into the canyon for Bluegrass
