We took our then 22 month old to Telluride in 2008 and camped in town park. We loved the convenience of it! This year we are going to do Rockygrass with our now 3 year old and 1 year old. Is on-site the best option with kids here too? What are the pros and cons between on site and Meadow Park? Thanks!!
I brought my kids when they were 3 and 6. We camped at Meadow Park and liked it because it was quieter at night and the bathroom wasn’t as crowded. There was also a nice place to play in the river. On the other hand, you aren’t as close.
I have also camped with them on site now that they are older. On site is good because it is close and there is a lot of shade, but the music is a little later and you are camped a lot closer together.
Olson is further away, but it quiets down, there is a playground and bathroom, and a place to play in the river and you have a little more room
They all have pros and cons, but all fun places to be. It just depends on your priorities.

Hi there.
We have never camped in Meadow Park, just landed there @ the end of our tube rides. It certainly does seem to be a bit more mellow and laid back in the campground there ( not as close) the river at many folks “doorsteps”. I am not so sure I would like to have the longer walk ea time I wanted to return to Meadow Park camp. Then again, at the end of every tube ride - you would be “home.”
On site camping is cramped and if your family wants to either stay up until the wee hours or has the ability to turn the music into a kind of white noise and get some sleep, it is fine and a fine crowd of people t0 be immersed in.
Best wishes!
Linda
Just re read your email.
If you loved town park with a child, you could be fine @ RG on site.
That’s made my mind up about RG 2010.
