Saw him numerous times performing on campus - he was a little before my time. Did know one of his teachers real well though - Whit Snyder. He and another UM alum Bruce Hornsby came back often to perform. I saw both Methaney and Hornsby both this summer and both reminiced (sp) about their days at UM.
I did belong to the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha while attending UM so I did know a lot of the UM music folks. Was a member of the Band of the Hour (marching band) for my 5 undergraduate years and my 2 graduate years.
My favorite UM moment is non music related - I have a picture of myself with then quarter back Jim Kelly and freshman quarter backs Bernie Kosar, Vinnie Testaverde and Mark Richt (currently the UGA head coach). Pretty cool picture.

there is no T in Wichita… not even in Wichita Falls… but there may be a few witches in wither of those places. Just thought I point that out so that you won’t be hanged in Texas. Here, we would just let slide, because we aren’t that kind of violent. We are a different kind of violent… as you may have noticed in The Wizard of Oz.
