I thought in years past that there were plenty of recordings to be had, but now I can’t find anything. Am I crazy? Any links we can share?
The only ones I’ve found so far are the SCI sets:
String Cheese Festival set: http://archive.org/details/sci2013-06-21
String Cheese Sheridan set (with Vince, Drew, and Andy from Leftover Salmon on a few songs): http://archive.org/details/sci2013-06-22
Patience…grasshoppers…
The first recordings started popping up on bt.etree.org around 6/28 last year, with the greatest numbers getting online in the mid July area. Creating quality masters and getting them into circulation isn’t something we want rushed.
Tapers are People too :lol
The recordings will be posted as soon as the tapers complete a rather time consuming process to make them easily down loadable for the likes of me and you. Please have patience!!! Etree, cotapers, and archive.org are common sites. Some of the tapers will post links on this forum. Please be sure to thank them and always consider dropping off a couple of beers at the tapers pit at shows you attend!!
These posts always amuse me. Be patient, it takes a lot of work to mix, track out, and upload these files.
All those links are dead. I was being lazy last night and now I deeply regret it.
They were working a couple days ago. I got them from the PT website, maybe someone murdered them.
That sucks. I hate murder.
Leftover Salmon

If you can’t get on cotapers, let me know, I have a couple of invites
Keep them coming everyone. If the Punch Brothers Nightgrass gets posted I will show my genitals. Or I will not show my genitals whichever one the board prefers.

Yeah…none of those links work.
Folks,
Can someone point me to a good reference where I can learn to work with FLAC files with Itunes and Windows 7? I’m OK with the files on the Internet Archive, but have little experience with the FLAC format.
Try downloading two free programs from download.com. The first is utorrent, the second Format Factory.
When you click on a torrent on bt or cotapers or wherever, tell your computer to have it opened by utorrent. That program will download the files to the folder of your choice.
If you want to keep those files as flacs, you’re done. But if you want to make CDs or get them loaded onto your ipod, Format Factory can convert them for you. Open FF and open “options”. There you can tell the program where you want your MP3’s stored (I keep mine in the same folder that they downloaded to). Next click on “all to mp3” and “Output setting” There you can increase the bit rate to, say, 256 for better quality. You can then label that setting as “custom”. Go back to the front page and hit “All to Custom” whcih has magically appeared. On the bottom right, click “add folder”, then browse to find your file. Hit the next 3 "OK"s and you’ll be back at the front page. Hit “start” and in about 5 minutes your files will be converted.
There are hundreds of ways to get your torrents open - this is just the way that I figured out. Hope it workd for you!
Thanks completejohn. I will give it a try over this long weekend.
PS. Have finally stopped coughing from the dust.
