What three things would you take to a Desert Island?

What three things would you take to a Desert Island?
Assuming you didn’t need to worry about survival (for some strange reason)…

For me it would be:

A shaolin martial arts manual (for health and general self-improvement muahahaha);
A journal and pen (this counts as one, damnit! And it would be to record my ponderings);
And a kaleidoscope (for when I finally go crazy).

What would you take and why?

  1. gillian welch so i can have tunes and we can later repopulate the island
  2. a mandolin so can play with her
  3. a surfboard for fun and games and exercise

Practical knowledge of paper making, and creating colors, tools to make musical instruments, and seeds and cooking supplies :wave
Oops, too many things. :huh

this a game, and in the spirit of games…, ;;;;;;; can I change it?
i read about Spaniards coming down the Amazon, long ago. They melted down their armor and made nails and built a boat that took them back to Spain :hombre :hombre :concert;
Think if you understood how to create metal, or paper, or colors, or musical instruments, but the list is endless.
for me, it would have to include another person, my wife is a good friend. she thinks Tom Hanks would be good to have along, even if he only lived this in the movies.
i started thinking about having all the bluegrass music Sam Bush has ever heard, on an Ipod with rechargeable batteries, but I would have to develop a recharger.
The game is endless, but the “What ifs” are endless as well.
Think of it as if you were to go to “Telluride” (what ever that is) :butterfly,
And what are the most precious “things” that you need to bring… :thumbsup, ‘sandal ponds’,
and I, (please sign here), Bouzouki :cheers :medalDan, will think of three things I need to bring…
i am a “Lost” fan, but only because I have fantasized it since I lived sixty-six miles from Telluride, …, about…, and IAMTRYINGTOWRITEMYPSYCHOTICADVENTUREANDHISTORYASHEARD THROUGH THE EARS OF SOMEONE spending hours on the deserted island, but thinking of spending a day, or four, a year, or for the next seven
years at Telluride, or, having spent a number of years,
around the solstice,
my wedding anniversary,.
[now this you have to think about, say, for the next four years],
What do I need to take to Telluride every year,
[now I realize that I am changing the rules that you thought of when
you wrote this post, but i would rather write than watch, and read, but it makes me want to listen, and play]
…I like to play (Suddenly)
{GOD walked in, and threw the Glass to the floor},
Scampi The Cat, took issue and ran,
I picked up the ice…,
and thought,…
‘“sandal ponds”’
taking three things to an island is a fantasy,.

  1. What are you taking to Telluride?
  2. What do you intend to leave there?
  3. What do you intend to take back?
    now,
there are three things that are partly fantasy,
    to many a reality,
    and for us all,
    a variety,
    “’[sandal ponds]”’,
What is it that you would really like to have happen in Telluride… at the TBF?

And here I thought a desert was a region so arid because it has such little rainfall that it supports only sparse or no vegetation at all, or any area in which few forms of life can exist because of lack of water, permanent frost, or absence of soil. :rolleyes Doesn’t sound like my idea of an island. Maybe you meant “deserted island”?

A good friend who lives in Hawaii was once asked by a tourist “Does water go all the way around this island?”

I guess I wouldn’t go to a desert (or deserted) island on purpose, so I wouldn’t be taking anything to one. I’d rather go somewhere tropical with a few basic amenities, like a private hale’, a restaurant, a pool, a pool bar, (or maybe a Tiki bar ;)) and a concierge or cabana boy to take care of everything else! Oh, I guess I would take my credit card, and that should take care of it all. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Three things i would take:

  1. A second person for company, preferably a young, healthy, beautiful woman.

  2. A large, deluxe, multi-tool Swiss Army Knife.

  3. An extra powerfull, extra heavy duty, hand winch loaded, crossbow, with telescope sight.

:pipe2 OK HOLD EVERYTHING! There are no Islands in the desert… :talk

Fuzzy…

easy:

  1. cooler of frosty beverages
  2. a fishing pole
  3. a boat (so I could go home when I’m through being on a Desert Island.)

I’d change the first two with:

  1. A truck load of frosty beverages.
  2. A truck load of food.

Yes! Fuzzy! Like things natural and normal!
Go, Hippie!
