Volunteer Newbie

I looked for you on FB Matty, but I could not find you. :huh

That’s me…other people have told me that too…I think it helps if you put Chicago…I dunno! :thumbsup

Found ya! :thumbsup

There are still a few tickets left for Illium, and out of the remaining camp sights, that would be my first choice. It’s the farthest away from the festival, but it has shade (something Lawson and the HS lack) and you can have alcohol (something the HS lacks). The shuttles will get you to the festival on time. I’ve heard of others having problems with them, but I never did when I stayed there. As long as you plan accordingly, you should be fine.

Scratch that. They did sell out. In that case, it depends on whether you’re going to want to drink and/or pick late into the night. IF neither of those appeal to you, the High School would be great. It’s got quiet hours and is pretty close to the festival. You could walk there, but be prepared for the altitude. I’m not sure where you’re from, but if you’re not used to the altitude, it can leave you breathless (literally) (sorry, I had to go there). They also have shuttles running between the High School and the Festival Grounds.

Thanks Hot Sugar,

Man! I wish I had gotten camping tickets sooner. I like to drink and cruise the late night pickin, plus I prefer to be close to the festival.

I’m sure it will still be fun, and I’ll no better for next year.

:wave Keep posting and asking for TP or Warner Field in the Ticket/Swap forum. Many people get their tickets that way right up to June. It’s way better closer to fest, but High School works good for sleeping. I never went there other than to rest, so quiet was good!

I will have to plan earlier next year as well. Can’t expect the newbies to hit a home run their first time at bat :lol

But a couple of my friends were going to buy Mary E tickets today, cause of pay day. But missed out. Oh well, nothing could possibly hender anyones experience at this fest. Or it shouldn’t at least. Lol

Hooch honey, he said you have a whole CAMPGROUND! Does that mean it is invitation only? If so, this is my R.S.V.P. And Billy? Shoot, he didn’t even have his tent anywhere near Hooch’s Campground last year. We could call it Hooch’s KOA. Krazies Only Allowed.

Helloooo CindyLou! Okay, you are in with the Krazies. Billy is pretty good at avoiding the loonies, but sounds like he may brave a closer spot this year.

As another “newbie” I was wondering what else might we expect?

Music…with guitars and stuff… ;)! Best way to go is to not expect anything, then it will be a completely fulfilling excursion! :flower

:wave I want into the Hooch KOA too. I’m bringing my tarp running hot legs husband again this year. And, my friend Kim is a total newbie! I’d love to find a way to Volunteer to do pictures. How do I get that gig?

Hooch- I know I get an invitation too … cause ya want the bacon right?

So since this is all on my original post, does that mean I get a spot in Hooch’s camp too! LOL :flower

That is, if I can get a ticket to TP, I’m assuming . . .

ONLY if you bring Bacon

:peace

Hippie meant MORE BACON!

Only if you bring MORE bacon Brooke! :lol :lol :lol

And now for your viewing pleasure and an encouragement to fetsivate safely:

Bacon PSA

:peace

Fine, Brooke, Debbie, and Moonbeam (including tarp-running hubby & newbie weirdo friend) can all join the KOA as long as a generous offering of bacon is provided. And speaking of…Debbie, it’s almost time to start working up that direct-shipment bacon order from your friends at the bacon farm!!! What’s their website again? And do they have any new flavors this year? I’d love to get some maple flavor!

This is my first time to the festival and volunteering too!! Glad to know there are other brave newbie souls :cheers
