very sad.
a very sad day indeed.
:angel
Hopefully, they had insurance and will be able to rebuild…
That’s a real bummer.
There’s no other place like it in Telluride.
Even if they can rebuild it sure won’t be in time for this years festival.
Ohhhh they needed a new oven anyway… Insurance is a beautiful thing. In Telluride I am sure all the commercial property is required to be covered to the 9’s. Looks like a gift in disquise I hope.
Have any of you noticed that some of the more historic buildings in Tride have been in need of attention for decades…
It’s like losing an old friend. I am majorly bummed.
This is a very sad day indeed. BIT is a staple in many of our diets once in Telluride. Let’s keep out fingers crossed they can make a quick turn around, perhaps in another location, if only on a temp basis, and be open for business very soon.
A Very Sad,
Auntie Hope :huh
P.S.
Stong… bring the oven… upon Visa approval we need to start designing a wedding cake.
:thumbsup
Oven is in!!!
Already thing about the reception! :cheers
Wasn’t there something about Paul going to town for doughnuts a few years ago? And would have them back in camp bright and early?
Hope they will make a quick comeback! :thumbsup
Come on Visa!!!
:eek
Perhaps a site will go up where fans of BIT can contribute towards the re-build?
The fire was a tragedy, but perhaps the rebuild can offer opportunity for a Baked In Telluride that incorporates a stage, etc? (Such as Stubb’s in Austin, etc).
I don’t know Jerry Greene personally, but someone please tell him to keep on truckin’! I’ll donate, and I’m sure others would too, to see this landmark business preserved in Telluride!
Somehow this can become a positive, but I’ll miss the ol’ TIB…
:thumbsup
Please go to the Daily Planet site Tucon Deb posted and read all the postings for the love to Jerry and the crew at BIT! :thumbsup
From all over the world, I would be proud to have this kind of possitive feedback, if it were my business!
I know I am going to miss it, as I know all the TBF folks will.
He and his staff touched an awful lot of hearts and tummys!
:thumbsup
Keep us posted, Deb, if they set up a site to donate!

But Jerry will rebuild !

Sad for the owners, but honestly the place went downhill with the new ownership. They stopped making their Thai Chicken Pizza, which was their best pie, a couple years ago and heir breads are pretty weak. I will admit that the croissant in the morning as well as the empanadas are pretty tasty though.
They made my Birthday cake for me and it was really good!!!
I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason. That building like many others I have noticed in T need attention. I still say, look on the bright side!
Commercial Insurance will get em fixed up and runnin in no time if he chooses.
Business owners pay sooooooooooooo much to just make a livin and rarely do any of us EVER use our insurance… Go get that new oven big guy!!! :medal
Donuts are easy… Just be sure that Ron brings extra peanut oil and propane for the fryer.
:peace
Couldn’t agree more about the Thai Chicken Pizza… I thought it was fantastic and made a point of complaining about its absence once or twice the past two years.
Got It Jerry
:cheers
GREAT NEWS!!!
Keep you fingers crossed!!!
