Tubing Question

So I know they sell tubes nearby but I am hoping to bring my own. What level of quality tube should I be looking for? Also how does tubing to the mainstage work? This may be a dumb question. Can I float from on site camping directly to the mainstage? Can’t wait for my first Rockygrass!!!

Just the basic tubes will work just fine. The only way you’d be able to tube from onsite to the mainstage is if you are camped back stage, the tube ride would be about 30 seconds long though. More likely you will start from onsite camping and then tube down through Riverbend and Meadow park and then walk back to the festival. The only way to do any real tubing to the main stage would be to have someone drive you up the river a bit and then float down.

Either way the river is great and a good way to enjoy the festival.

Have a great first RG! :cheers

How is the water level this week, for tubing… Uh, for my fat-ass??

National Weather Service shows today’s (7/25) reading at 4.24 ft. and flood stage is at 8.5 ft.

So, does that mean there is still a lot of water… good for tubing without dragging the bottom??? :eek :huh

Thanks :wave :lol

Best tubing up here during academy in the last 5 years. BYOtube

spent sunday tubing while setting up. great flow for tubing.

So I ended up camping in on site camping (North side) and was in fact able to float right down to the main stage. It was a very short tube ride though.

Our kids all floated from River bend camp area to main stage all day long. It’s really just a walk across the street and through the campsite to get to the river. The durable tubes are $15 and we kept ours we bought last year to bring back. You could use any tube, but I would get one there unless you have one that’s strong to stay in tact. Have fun!
