Town Park virgin? Get your answers here!

it is clearly stated that no alcohol is allowed and you won’t see any people posting tips on “sneaking” booze in because PB folks read this stuff too…shove the bottle up your ass you f#@%ing idiot

Ok harsh, but he is right, there is no alcohol allowed on the grounds unless you purchase it there. I work customs, so thanks for the tip. I hope not to smell your ‘water’ but if need be, I might have to. I suggest pre-gaming it!

Clear liquids rule! Lemonades, premixers and assorted sundry items. One year a group of goofoffs hauled a sofa into the fest, had removed the pullout mattress and stuffed it with cases of brewskis. Classic!

Just remember. No GLASS, don’t even think of it. There is a cursory bag squeeze/check at every public entry. But then again, there are 1000’s that pass through every hour. . .

The good news is that there is fine wine and quality beerskis to be found inside the fest. No worries and very tasty. Along with coffees, sodas, teas, snow cones, ice cream, junque foods, gourmet foods, guitars and many other things to enjoy along with the music

:cheers My wife and I are planning on attending for our honeymoon! Wondering how good of chance we roughly have on getting a campsite at town park? is it like 1/5 chance or 1/10000? And when is the ballfield sites go on sale? thanks

You definitely have a chance. I know people who haven’t been turned down in 10 years. I also know people who haven’t won the lottery in 10 years. It’s still worth entering. Warner Field tickets will go on sale December 7th, and I suggest you buy those the first day, otherwise you’ll miss out.

Ok, this thread is large
I really dont want to search :). Im sure this type of post happens like one a week so sorry, Thinking about doing telluride next year or the year after that still thinking and saving $$$

Buy your TBF ticket next week!! (12/7) :thumbsup Camping is fun! Camping ticket includes the festivaaal. “Town Park” camping sold out by lottery in November. The other camping areas sell out fast as well, so be ready. (12/7/2011) Watch PB site for Nightgrass performer and ticket announcements in the months to come. :cheers

“I really dont want to search.”

Not to be overly dramatic, but… If you want to stay alive at 8,750 feet above sea level, do the search for information. You’ll be VERY glad you did in the long run… trust me on this one. You DO NOT want to be under prepared when attending this FESTIVVVAAALLL!!! It s not your basic summer camp. :thumbsup

Bring: Everything
Sweat: Nothing
Prepare: To be Boggled

Consider the 2011 fest. By Saturday, some people were probably wondering “Why did I bring all this gear? I haven’t needed my gloves, winter parka, or snow boots yet!”.

How quickly that changed when the snow starter flying Sunday, and we all had to break camp in the mud and the snow.

Okay. Not my first Telluride, but the first time in TP.

My 15 year old daughter and I are really looking forward to all the jamming. We’ve been reading the festivarian forums and the TP thread to get excited, but we haven’t seen our question answered.

So my apologies if this has been asked, but: Do the permanent “groups/families/camps” that return every year try to set up operation in the same areas of TP?

If so, has anyone ever made a map of this? Sitting here in the snow in Denver, we’re excited to start thinking about where in TP we might set up and … strategize a bit. A map of TP with the different group locations overlayed upon it would be the BOMB! :thumbsup

Of course, if the nature of the campsite grab is such that they’re generally not in the same area year to year, then as Eeyore says: No matter.

Happy Holidays!

The traditional camps tend to set up in the same area every year. There was a map a few years ago, but it was made more for directions to find your friends’ camps. There’s still plenty of room and most all of the camps are willing to accept new people into the fold.

I’m a virgin to all this, thank you for creating a place where many of my questions can be answered! Tis a mighty fine forum y’all have here with such friendly and helpful people!

Im a newbie!! COming form the SC east coast - all by my girlie self… I have some frineds from here that moved to Denver I haven’t seen in a while camping in town park. However, I will not have a camping wristband since they all sold out. SO Can yu not even go hangout without a band? I plan to get a hotel for safe keeping since I’m not sure I want to camp with total strangers… but I want to be able to hang out with the few folks I do know…? thanks, danielle

You’ll only be able to hang out with them in town or your hotel if you don’t have a camping pass. If you have a festival pass you can hang out with them in the festival. Even the bands have camping passes, hotel accommodations, or a tour bus. Sorry. :flower

Town Park is closed to all but Town Park Campers from Thursday AM to Monday at Noon, after fest. Prior to Thursday AM, when fest starts, you will be able to visit your friends.

Auntie Hope :festivarian2 :green

Also if you can find a Warner field camping pass you will be able to visit the Town Park campers…

Just remember, it’s not really cool to buy a camping pass just to hang out with friends if you have a condo- especially as tight as tickets are this year…

Hello all old timers,

We are so excited to be a part of this wonderful scene. I have a few questions If you have a vehicle pass, do the campsites have hook ups for electricty? Do the established campsites use generators? What happens at noon on Monday? Does everyone have to be packed an gone? When does the schedule for the prior week events come out and where would we find it? Thanks for the info.
Looking forward to some serious grass!!!

Hey, mpasrons!
The campsites do NOT have hookups for electricity. Your vehicle is simply a place to sleep in. Noon on Monday is the deadline to be packed and out of the campground. The pre-fest schedule will come out closer to the festival; I’m not really sure when. Telluride Tom will post it on this forum, however.

And… no, the use of generators is frowned upon unless they’re used during daylight hours to charge your batteries.
I’ll be posting the schedule of events in the next couple months. :cheers
