Town Park Access Before the Start of the Festival

I’m a TP veteran of over twenty years but have no ticket for this year. Since I live about 90 miles away I would like to visit my friends in TP before they shut it down to only those with wristbands. Can someone remind me of when that happens?

Also, I know they begin restricting traffic into the town at some point during the week of the fest. Will I have a problem driving into Telluride on Tuesday or Wednesday (6/17 or 18)? Or should I drive to Mtn Village and take the gondola into T’ride? BTW, I’ll be driving home for the night, not trying to sleep in my car in town, or engage in any other such disreputable behavior!

Wrist band enforcement begins Thursday morning fully. They will start to ask questions wednesday night, you will have no issues coming into town tuesday or wednesday morning
