Okay, I’ve been lurking for some time now, it’s time to say “Hello”! :wave
I am REALLY looking forward to my first visit to Telluride this June!
I’m a huge Bela Fleck fan, and what finally got me motivated to make the trip is the chance to see Bela in 4 different group settings- not to mention some prompting from my friend (and fellow Fleckhead) Hope Lin!
I’m also looking forward to seeing Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Chris Thile, Los Lobos, Tony Rice, New Orleans Social Club, John Cowan- okay, pretty much
every act listed!
And of course, I’m looking forward to meeting all of you Festivarians, and doing some Festivating myself! Reading all the posts on this board has got me so fired up, I can’t wait until June!

Hello All,
I’ve been lurking for a couple of weeks now but I’m really looking forward to the festival. This will be my second year so I’m definately what you can consider a newbie to it all. My girlfriend’s (hopefully fiance by festival time) family owns a ranch in Norwood (we’re from Knoxville, TN) and has been coming to the festival for quite a while now. We stay at the ranch while we’re in town (usually a week or so) and come into T-Ride for a few days of the festival. Because of this, my festivating time is limited. However, I hope to maybe see some of you at the shows and at least say hello.
Musically, I’m a huge bluegrass fan and can’t wait to see Bela, Sam, Yonder and Thile again, as well as Jerry Douglas and AKUS. This year looks to be another great festival!!!

Hey Brandon - keep checking-in to this forum. Teluride Tom will anounce a list of events where you will have the oppurtunity to meet a bunch of us “listivarians” The Everybody’s Birthday Party at Smuggler’s on the monday before the festival and the photo-opt next to the beer-tent that takes place during the festival comes to mind. See you in Telluride…

I have asked a few questions in previous posts, but I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed all of the information and excitement I have read from the veteran Festivarians. I cannot WAIT for my first TBF experience.
I keep asking my boss for one more day off before the festival every time I read about rumballs and home brew contests (I am up to Monday now).
I would like to come down early and hang out with everyone… Since I now have Monday off, would it be possible for me to camp in Town Park until Tuesday? I have other arrangements for Tuesday night through the end of the festival, but I would love it if I could hang out with everyone before then. I have read some previous posts about Planet Bluegrass taking over Town Park on Saturday, but I would be willing to pay to camp until Tuesday morning. Let me know if anyone has any insight

Welcome, Lurkers! This festivarian forum was SUCH a great idea, Dustin!! The festival is still three months away and I’m so damn excited I can hardly stand it! It’s so nice to talk to other people who are as excited about it as I am. Can we leave RIGHT NOW???
