It’s my opinion that PB should review all ebay ads asking for anymore more than face value. They could simply look at the picture in the ad, if there is a ticket number on the picture (many scalpers don’t realize they are including that number in their ad) and that person is asking for more than face, they should be flagged.
Just a thought of how to track those folks down, and prevent all the meyhem that took place with tickets this winter/spring. I imagine a lot of people dished out good cash for the limited supply of tickets, and look at the situation now. Everythings going for under face value.
IMHO, and as a self-identified newbie to this, my problem was the unexpected OUTRAGEOUS cost of local lodging. I happily bought 4 passes w/o camping last year thinking I had ample time to find a condo, vrbo, or someplace to park my camper. That said, I could not find a condo for under $550/night with a minimum of 4-5 nights lodging.
As a group of 4 we agreed to attempt to sell the passes and buy Town Park passes on the Festivarian Board rather than make a mortgage payment for one weekend stay. Now, I am having little luck unloading the 4 passes.
Don’t get me wrong, I am going to rock n grass this fest and share the love and pick with friends. But, an admonition for newbies about the exorbitant cost of lodging would have been useful for me.
Perhaps there’s a cancellation on the board somewhere? I’ve seen people advertise condo only, at pretty steep discounts this close to the fest.
I would recommend putting the passes up on Craigslist for $150 each. you should get a couple hits. I got 3 the first day my ad was up. I had to bail this year too. Bummer.
:wave I totally agree with you. But there are sooo many questions every year, and many are the same, over and over again. We all did this the first time once upon a time, and learned many things the hard way. Some are lucky to get connected early and get major issues figured out painlessly, but every year we hear stories like this. I believe you will sell your passes @ festivaaaal if they’re not sold by then. If it was simple, so many many more of us wouldn’t get the tix we want! :cheers
You really shouldn’t have a problem selling those 4-Days right outside the box office prior to fest. It happens everyday, every year at FESTIVVVAAALLL!!!
Southern Colorado is full of folks that decide to drive up at the very last minute!
