I was just talking to one of my best friends, who is meeting me for our first time Telluride fest experience and she agrees that you all are so incredible nice on this forum. Thanks for answering questions and not trolling posts. Makes me even more excited! We will be camping at Mary and arriving early Tues, so if we manage to get a firepit, you all are more than welcome to come share with us. See you guys soon!
^^^ Agreed… I am a first timer as well, and it is definitely refreshing to be able to ask questions/for help and not get snide comments fired back. And it definitly excites to see how passionate people are about all things TBF… instead of talking about how their favorite bands don’t deliver any longer.
Take a stroll onto phantasytour.com, depending upon the band & time of year … it can be total free for all re: trolling … etc. There’s always a “heart” on such boards, but you just have to poke around a bit more. Here people tend to wear their hearts on their sleeves.
Make sure to set up camp and then head all the way to the other end of town, where town Park campground is located and come say hello to everyone! Even Tuesday evening if you’re not tuckered out from setting up camp! :thumbsup
By the way…
We think you ladies are pretty nice too! :flower
If all goes as planned, when you get to Town Park Campground you’ll see the Hippo Campus banner. I’m in there with the menagerie of Hippo Campus and Camp Pink Elephant (Deb from Tucson & Family). If we’re not home Deb’s boys usually are. Just ask them which way they saw us go last. Then you too can become a Game Hunter in Town Park! :lol
All of us here know where everyone is. It’s a familiar neighborhood. It used to be “unique” to say we were in the camp with the Tie dyes flying in the trees and the Teepee, but seems everyone has that now :lol
Those of you not camping in Town Park are welcome to stop me in the festival grounds and say hello too. :flower
It’s hard to miss that straw top hat. :wave
It’s the truth! Haven’t met a stranger yet! I’m convinced it’s one of the finest gathering of folks in the country!
This forum - the people, the stories, the antics - it all helps me get though those long winter months while I’m dreaming about seeing all the friends and family in the Colorado high country! :sunshine
Trust me, they aren’t just nice forum people, their nice across the board! :lol :lol
The reception I got as a newbie on the forum in 2009 is only a sneak peak into what these people will do for you in real life!!! :cheers
I’m thinking extra tents, sleeping bags, saving a camping spot, inviting me to fresh cooked breakfast, toasting my good health with some pretty freaky cocktails (Crunchy Frog anyone?!?), and squeezing together to give me a spot on their tarp…
I can’t believe it’s been two years!! :eek
Another great thing about these people is that it’s a global community. I was wearing my 36th TBF shirt to a Railroad Earth show last night and ended up meeting itsRick there. Meeting another festivarian is an instant bond no matter where you are. These people don’t just carry the festivarian attitude during TBF, they carry it with them 24/7.
Trixie, try to make it into townpark for some of the festivities on Mayor Tom’s list. Rumballs is pretty much the unofficial, official kick off party to festival I think it’s about 5:00 on Wednesday. Ask anyone where it is.
Are you from Montana? I see an MT in your screen name?
