Thanks yet AGAIN, PB!!!

What an epic TBF!!! Great weather, fantastic line-up, lots of new friends and a few photos of ladies wearing mustaches. How could we ask for more?

My Camp Mustache friends are continually amazed by the amenities you don’t find at ANY other festivals. Who else would give up thousands of dollars by giving away water? Where else can you go that provides free sun screen? And no other fests demand that your empty tarp is EVERYONE’s empty tarp!

You were even able to finally figure out a FAIR method of distributing numbers for the tarp run. I was SO happy to meet people at the head of the line that were running a tarp for just a few people, mixed in with runners from the large camps. That means that EVERYONE had a chance to be first in line every day.

(My only suggestion for the new line procedure is to change the TIME of the distribution of the numbers. By having it at 7 am, you are inconveniencing hundreds of people. How about doing it at, say, midnight? Or better yet, since everyone’s wristband gets punched when they receive their number, you could have the numbers available ALL DAY LONG (or at least for several hours) at the box office.)

As for the line-up, this had to be one of the best ever. I love finding new faves (hello Billy Strings!), new stuff from long timers (Dusters, Yonder), and classics from our founders (Sammy, Jerry). But every year it’s the non-bluegrass that thrills me. Tedeschi Trucks - wow. St. Paul - double wow. And Live From here - what a riot to be able to see something like that performed live.

The only problem I see in the future is that tickets will become more difficult to find every year. But it’s only because this is the BEST festival in the world!

THANK YOU, Planet Bluegrass, your entire staff and all the great volunteers! It’s really great to look forward to something special every June!

John,

I have to agree on all counts. This was a fabulous festival and except for a little rain on Saturday and Sunday, and some 80 degree weather one day the weather cooperated! We really enjoyed the Dierks Bentley set on Wednesday night. It was great to watch Dierks look on in awe at all the musicianship around him with the Traveling McCourys and Sam Bush. On highlight of this set was when Sam was speaking into the Mic and asking the sound guy to give him “more of Dierks Guitar” in his monitor. Dierks comes back and says, “I never thought I would hear Sam Bush ask to hear more of my guitar!” Loved it! TTB was awesome, the house band Amazing, as was NGDB! Thanks PB!

Right on. This was an outstanding festival, even by Planet Bluegrass standards. outstanding lineup all around.
And now we pray for rain before all SW Colorado dries up.

It rained on saturday and sunday? Were we at the same festival? lol

He meant the day we moved into Town Park.

I totally concur that this was another great time that was put together by the Planet Bluegrass folks!! With that said, I’d like to register a complaint!!
