we’ve seen some great “tweener” sets between Main Stage sets over the years … vaguely remember Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas (with Jonathan Edwards or Jackson Browne?) play a few tunes while we just happened to be roaming over in the area where tweener sets run …
any favourite tweener sets you’ve seen over the years ?
we’ve caught some great music at Elks Park over the years too … nice to take a break from the midday sun (or rain, or snow, or…) and hang under the shady grove of those Elks Park trees for a while …
My favorite “tweener” set was a bunch of years ago in the middle of the day. After the last act I thought it would be a good time to head out to the shade for a bit of rest. I was about half-way to the gates when I heard some amazing sounds coming from the stage. I immediately turned around to go back to hear Jake Shimabukuro with his magical ukulele! This was well before he was well known. And now this year he’s back on the main stage!
Last year the John Depew Trio, been a few years since I remember seeing in betweenness on the main stage, but there’s usually someone/group playing in the “green” area.
