Hi everyone, this will be my first year at TBF so I have a couple basic questions for you seasoned veterans out there. Some quick background: my buddy is flying into Denver and lands at 9 AM on the 21st, we’re heading straight to telluride from DIA and camping at Lawson Hill (tent only) so we should be there around 4 or 5 if I had to guess. My questions are
Will this time of arrival complicate us getting to our campground as well as finding a parking spot?
Will the main box office still be open so we can exchange our tickets for wrist bands at that time?
3 what would you recommend we do first after getting settled in a spot and getting everything set up?
Lawson is in a great spot to arrive late, since it’s outside town boundaries / barricade, but not sure about parking at the actual campground. You might need to park in the TMV, but the entire process (if you bring along everything you’ll need for the festival) should take about an hour from door to door (of festival).
The volunteers at Lawson will likely have wristbands available for exchange, so you can skip the main box office. That was the case when I camped at Mary E. years back. Very convenient.
One small hill as you enter town otherwise fairly flat (except for the short steep climb out of Lawson Hill). Bring bike lights and gloves if you plan to bike back after the last set at Town Park or after Nitegrass. No street lights and gets fairly cold at that time of night. Great way to travel to the festival!
